Hawthorn-Mellody Farms was located in Libertyville, Illinois and ran from the early 1900s through 1970 (see Living History of Illinois and Chicago). In 1937, John S. Cuneo Sr. bought the farm and the Cuneo Mansion from Samuel Insull (see Cuneo Museum - Wikipedia).

Cuneo was also the founder of the Cuneo Press, where influential Chicago designer and typographer Burton Cherry was Director of Design and Typography.
