HEAVY AND LIGHT was an opportunity for people to be vulnerable in many different ways, as explained

HEAVY AND LIGHT was an opportunity for people to be vulnerable in many different ways, as explained by today’s featured Collectivesubmission.

asearchforsunshine:

I am probably your average, broken New Yorker. Not only is it weird to make physical contact with other people, but it scares me too. I don’t like making myself vulnerable enough to get close to strangers.

But of course, Jon asks the crowd to put an arm around the person to either side, to be connected. And although I was hesitant to, I did and it was okay. Because I knew we were all there for the same purpose and we all shared one thing - we were all broken. But a lot of broken people coming together like a family make a whole.

I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s true. That’s what it felt like. I wasn’t just a scared New Yorker. I was the whole crowd, singing along…

“Our love is a puzzle that can’t be solved.”

An eight hour journey leading to a single moment in today’s feature Collective submission. mad

An eight hour journey leading to a single moment in today’s feature Collectivesubmission.

madeinthe80s:

When I heard that Heavy and Light would be going on tour, I immediately started planning a road trip. A friend and I traveled the 8 hours to Chicago just so we could experience this.

Now, this photo isn’t of my exact favorite moment but its close. Jon Foreman came out into the crowd, with guitar unplugged and no mic, and started singing “Dare You to Move” and insisted that the crowd sang with him.

“I know we’ve all experienced pain, we’ve all experienced things we need to rise above. This is a song about emotion and a belief in a world that could potentially exist. I believe we call that hope.”-Jon Foreman

The feeling in that moment was unforgettable. An entire room of people bonded together by a song, by a likeness, by a feeling of hope.

The entire evening, I couldn’t help but feel like I was at home and at peace.

Thanks TWLOHA for all you do.

It’s not the greatest quality, but if you want to see/hear what moment I’m talking about, check it out here.
