7Electrons Guest Artist - Josh Nimoy

Chances are you’ve seen Josh’s work, even if you’re unaware of it.  In the entertainment/commercial industry he is a coding unicorn for VFX artists.  He writes software art to generate special effects for movies like TRON: Legacy (2010) and more.    

What is even more amazing is that he creates personal art in his spare time! This is a major motivation here at 7Electrons. It’s awesome to have Josh on board here at 7E.

Sky Paintings is a series of digital paintings derived from code.  
He writes, “They are about sublime serendipity, and the universality of biological syntax. Each render takes about as long as a human would need to actually paint the same thing. Many fractal scenes were generated, but only a few were hand-picked for final presentation. These 2400 DPI prints, coded in Java/Processing, implement an iterative function. The slowly shifting transforms result in paint-strokes.”
