Apesar da excelência e do caso ímpar que foi a história dos 'fab four’ não poderemos nunca reduzir Liverpool aos Beatles e ao universo da sua descendência. Na verdade o final dos anos 70 assistiu ali a nova vaga de acontecimentos durante a qual surgiram nomes que iriam marcar a música dos oitentas. Um deles era o de Julian Cope que, depois dos Crucial Tree, formava os Teardrop Explodes com os quais gravou uma mão cheia de grandes canções. Esta, por exemplo, foi cartão de visita para o segundo álbum da banda.
Late 70’s Liverpool was the craddle of several crucial names fot the 80s. Among them Julian Cope, who lead the Teardrop Excplodes and gave us some fabulous songs like this one.
