a/n: writing this because we always see miyuki so strong but we all know that once in a while, humans break. and i think it’s lovely, because while everyone has those days, it’s a reminder that things always find a way, even when you think they won’t. if you’re reading this, always know you will forever be more than enough, because we are human and it happens. ily !

there are some days where even the most capable break down.

some happen more often for others, some come once in a while; the point is that it happens to everyone. it can come in little increments, or in large waves.

miyuki kazuya, pro baseball player with the position of the catcher, was always full of confidence and skill that everyone admired. he never faltered despite taking losses, and he was one of the biggest inspirations to many people.

but no one knew that side of him— that side where he thought he wasn’t good enough; the side where he took it especially hard on himself because he knew he could’ve done better. no one knew that side but you, so when he comes home looking like the whole world was weighing on his shoulders, you immediately took him into a hug, letting the silence speak for itself. miyuki has always had a hard time expressing himself, but you knew him so so well.

“you did so good,” you whispered, leading him to the bedroom to sit at the bedside. you took his hand in yours and tilted down a bit to get a look at his face. with his eyebrows furrowed, he shook his head.

“if only i was good enough.”

“and you are. you will always be good enough, and for me you’re even more.”

you pulled him into your chest, slowly lulling him into a state of calmness, before whispering sweet nothings to reassure him. because everyone has those days; where even the most capable break down. some happen more often for others, some come once in a while. and while miyuki rarely showed it to anyone but you, it happens. and that’s completely okay.
