#kell has been busted

Jane crouched over a slime-covered leg that sat in the middle of the tunnel.
It was really only the bottom half of a leg, severed just below the knee. It was still wearing a leather boot, and part of a dark pant leg that’s original colour was obscured by blood and goo, and it didn’t appear to have been gnawed on or digested at all.
“I definitely think this belonged to the guy who tried to stab me in the face,” she said, loud enough for Kell to hear where he sat against the wall several metres behind her. She’d been narrating her findings to his distinct displeasure.
“I don’t know why you’re telling me this,” he repeated.
She bounced to her feet and returned to him. “Because you seem like the kind of person who had a monster phase growing up and might be able to identify what we’re dealing with.”
“I—” He stopped, pressing his lips together. “I don’t remember much of what I learned back then.”
Jane grinned victoriously.
