#kenobi series spoilers
So, Obi-Wan now knows Anakin is alive, and we’ve explicitly been shown a flashback of Padme saying “there is still good in him”
Prediction: A significant portion of the plot after Leia is returned is Obi-Wan going to try to save Anakin, in the desperate hope there is still some hope left for the person who meant/means so much to him. It goes badly. It goes fucking tragically. Obi-Wan is left feeling as if Vader has killed whatever was left of his own apprentice and thus when we go forward to the original trilogy, he has no problem with telling Luke Vader is his father and trying to get Luke to kill him. Because, from his perspective, Anakin is gone forever and a monster has taken his place.
And everything is going to hurt.
“It’s just a toy.”
Obi-Wan working all day at the Roadkill Factory to earn a handful of credits just so he could buy Luke a toy.
He doesn’t even risk giving it to him on his own, he just leaves it there in the night. Because he saw that Luke liked to pretend to be a pilot!! HE JUST WANTED TO DO SOMETHING SMALL THAT MIGHT MAKE HIM HAPPY. Because obi-Wan hurts so hard and has resigned himself to never feel happy again?? But there’s so much good in him.And even though Luke doesn’t get to keep it, Obi-Wan still spares a few extra precious seconds with his life in danger to buy Leia a pair of gloves.
Because she thought they were pretty. And she wanted them. And even 10 years later his fatal flaw is always and still continues to be (even when he tries so hard not to) that he loves every part of what is left of Anakin.

Absolutely ADORING the contrast between Owen, who’s all “stay away from us”, and Bail, who legit flew to Tatooine himself after .2 seconds of Leia being in danger

Also Obi Wan, the moment he steps out of Tatooine: *dresses in Jedi robes*
All of this backstory between Leia and Obi-Wan really adds an extra layer of pain to the fact that Leia was in the hangar when he died doesn’t it
