Rlain’s other hand is holding Renarin’s near-hand, and Renarin’s far hand is poised in surprise at his waist, like he doesn’t know what to do with it and/or this handsome crab giving him bedroom eyes.
Renarin is blushing and wearing rectangular glasses, because we are good people who deserve good things. His expression is mild, fitting nicely into Dalinar’s descriptions of him showing limited emotions, and I feel like I can project any emotion I want onto this expression and feel like it’s subtly represented there? It’s wild. He has adorably big, round ears and properly epicanthic folded eyes and an awkward little mouth and a long, narrow nose I want to boop.
Rlain is… oh damn, Rlain. Rlain is gonna seduce all your sons and all the handsome princes. His skin is red with a few streaks of black marbling horizontally across his eyes, nose, and mouth, nicely accenting/contouring his features, making him look like a sexy demon. He has long, dark eyelashes half the women on Roshar would kill for, plus the aforementioned bedroom eyes with black irises and dark grey sclera. He has a short black beard and elegantly undulating carapace framing his eyes and the bridge of his nose and sweeping backwards to where the back of the head meets the neck. He’s maybe three inches taller than Renarin and has a generally broader torso, whereas Renarin’s torso is more dorito shaped. Rlain has a tiny speech bubble with a single musical note, probably the Rhythm of Temptation. Godspeed, you precious nerds.

and that makes me wonder - are all Singer forms predetermined by whatever deity created them or evolution, or can new ones arise spontaneously when new spren are created?

ID: Renarin and Rlain catch a wave on a wide surfboard in Lamaery’s Beach AU series. Rlain stands in the classic surfer position, knees bent and arms spread wide and body facing to the diagonal, and Renarin kneels at the front, holding the sides, laughing with joy as the wave crests behind them and the wind blows his hair back. Renarin wears blue swim trunks and has a long, skinny build with light tan skin. Rlain is in “swimform,” a form of the artist’s invention similar to warform, but with streamlined orange carapace and webbed fingers to propel him through the water and a crest on his head reminiscent of a shark’s dorsal fin.
