#kings tide
*watches the season finale and frantically draws the hexsquad on a trip to the zoo to cope*
we’re with you to the end of the line
ok i will say this hits different now that i’ve seen the season finale…
we’re with you to the end of the line
Hunter’s going through it
So the Collector was an alien from space all along…Yeah, sounds legit.
Ex-fucking-CUSE me????
(Sorry it’s so blurry zoomed in but I saw this and gasped) love that canonically speaking amphibia and owl house take place in the same world. What a wacky year for them, first frog invasion and now witches. What a life
Now wait a minute…..
IS THAT ANNE??
(stolen from twitter) so…..when does king’s tide take place?
// TOH Spoilers
The Government legit covered up the whole Frogvasion Incident
SAME UNIVERSE CANON!!
ANNE BOONCHUY?!!!!
okay so. still unpacking
here’s a list in no particular order of some of the shit that happened here
- Belos is dead. at least mostly. if he’s not dead he’s been reduced to just goo. and a bit of Belos goo has latched onto Hunter and is therefore now in the human realm
- The Collector is free and fully corporeal. they’re not possessing Luz, the resemblance is likely coincidental or otherwise not due to a physical connection
- King and the Collector have a pact now of some sort. they’re playmates I guess. King did pinky swear that they would play together
- We were right about Belos betraying the Collector and the Collector retaliating. but at what cost
- The Collector is, in fact, a child, at least by cosmic standards. unfortunately his version of playing with dolls is destroying the Boiling Isles and presumably making the residents into his personal playthings
- Luz, Amity, Hunter, Willow and Gus are now in the human realm, presumably living with Camila. we got what we wanted but at what cost
- We were right about Wittebro’s name being Caleb, and Flapjack did belong to Wittebro/Caleb. That’s 2 of the big Wittebro theories confirmed, so good for us for putting the pieces together I guess?
- King’s Collar makes him invisible to the Collector. Not much of a revelation but very much a “it’s a surprise tool that will help us later” moment
- Belos doesn’t hate Luz and never did. He wanted to help her despite their differences only because she’s human. of course his version of “help” is killing an entire realm of people including her friends and found family. so
- Kings dad (likely the Boiling Isles titan but still no solid confirmation) is the one that trapped the Collector and doomed him to becoming a shadow on the wall forever. makes sense why King could free him on his own but Belos likely couldn’t, it’s probably a spell(?) that was cast by a titan and therefore can only be undone by a titan. “Me whose trapped beneath these bones” indeed
- Our estimate for how many previous Golden Guards there were was too small. far, far, far too small
- The Collector is INSANELY powerful. What we’re getting here is a bratty child with unfathomable power who‘s temper tantrum could and would level the whole fucking realm. they moved the moon and sun with their pointer finger
- Eda lost an arm. EDA LOST AN ARM
- ,,this is the finale and we’re gonna be on hiatus after all of that
The goo closed the door in the end credits. I’m not sure Belos is fully dead. Also, Gus probably now knows of Hunter’s origins as a Grimwalker.
