Garnet was told many times by her mother to ignore the “guest” who recently began to visit. Too often she was turned away at the door, closed off with quiet whispers she couldn’t hesr. ‘Pay it no mind.’ She was told, but no, curiosity and a building rock in her stomach said to investiage. To learn. To find the truth. So she approached from the shadows of faraway columns and wondered why her Mother had suddenly began to act so erratic. What secrets did he hold? Unfortunately, she was no theif or skilled spy and her attempts at stealth were laughable. Perhaps no one would notice that vase she knocked over? (Pre ff9 spying? O.o)

|| ||                    …Perhaps it would have been prudent to let her know he was aware of her presence before any 15th century porcelain had to suffer for it, however thisdidmake for a much smoother transition into the main scene. He couldn’t have composed it better himself; that staccato shatter, a chorus of cymbals precipitating their fateful meeting!

“Oh…” He turned, wicked eyes meeting hers, and he smiled a painted smile. “Why, dear princess. Here I had heard they touted yourgrace~.”

With an effortless grace of his own, the silver-haired stranger stepped closer, lowering to one knee among the the scattered shards at the princess’ feet. The vase would be easy fix. The lovely princess was the one be to handled with care. Skin fairer than snow. Hair richer than ebony-wood. Lips redder than blood welling from a gashed throat. More garish features could not be conceived, and yet in the princess these traits were conceived perfectly. Her beauty would bloom into legend.

“Forgive me, I’ve neglected to bring you any flowers for our first meeting. But, will you not leave the fate of this vase to me in their stead? I’ll not allow you to tarnish your reputation.”
