Soo… I just finished playing NightShade ( Hyakka Hyakurou ) otome game and I’m NOT OKAY
It always has been on my wishlist and I couldn’t resist buying it recently with the great sale in the Nintendo eshop, %40 off! I honestly was so excited because literally ALL of the voice actors are top notch and I love their voices/work SO MUCH!!!
And let me tell you, I wasn’t disappointed! The voice acting on this game is the best as it could be. It’s the greatest solid point for Night Shade
As for the game in general… BIG DEPRESSION
If you love tragedy this game is definitely for you.. I didn’t even play any of the bad endings just the good endings and still my heart is wounded
In case of route enjoyment I’d say: Hanzo > Kuroyuki > Gekkamaru > Goemon > Chojiro Hanzo made the game worth it for me ugh he is LOVE and his relationship with the MC is the healthiest
Goemon was a bit boring, Hanzo has the best route hands down!! Chojiro was ugh.. I ended up skipping a lot of the route especially at the end, Kuroyuki was so exciting and different! Although his route is so messed up and finally Gekkamaru I’d say it was decent but expected more
All the routes left a bitter taste in my mouth.. MIND YOU, I only played the good ends!!! I didn’t enjoy most of them and I felt they lost most of their characters potential in their routes ( Chojiro was a big let down and Gekkamaru had so much tragedy to enjoy his sweet sweet self )
In case of the boys, I liked them all but Gekkamaru has to be my fave ♥️ although I didn’t like his route that much with the tragedy and curse but I still love him…
Romance is light and it’s expected with all that sadness in the game. CGs are few, I felt they lost a lot of good scenes to put as CGs but overall the ones present were good, mostly okay. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed with them
Overall,NightShadeis definitely one of the darkest otome games out there. I don’t like tragedy my heart is weak so I didn’t enjoy this game as I prefer sweet feelings & fangirling when I play my otome game but to be fair, it was quite a ride
Would I recommend it? Yes butonly if I know you like tragedy + played all the other big titles
