Hello everyone, 2018 one can say has been a mixed bag of both good things and not so good things, occurs on a daily basis and I believe that we can get through any hurdle that’s thrown at us good or bad. Thank you to everyone throughout the years that are following me, whether you followed yesterday or from the week that I made this blog, I’m super happy for everyone’s support. The RPG Maker community continues to surprise me with the talent that’s there, along with the passion that the people have when developing an idea into something awesome.
A few mentions (well a lot ok!… XD) for characters along with the people behind their creation, thank you very much for bringing these characters along with their individuality to light.

What a lovely message and adorable works of art! Thank you so much, Flare! Happy Holidays everyone!
Right now, I’m working on another location in my game. I’m having a lot of fun with it, but it’s still in the early stages! Hopefully I can fill it with lots of interesting things. Here’s a preview.
My goal is to finish the map by the end of this month!
Hello again! Ever curious about my map-making process? It usually starts with a sketch on paper like this. I write notes on the side and try to get a general feel for the layout, but the end result will almost always have significant changes.
Using Paint Tool SAI (but any digital art program works) I start putting down the shapes and basic shadows. At this point, it’s important I take into consideration the size of the character sprites and how they’ll be moving around things.
I do more shading and apply textures. Sometimes, if I want to make something feel shiny and clean, I’ll also create a reflection. This is done by copying the walls, flipping them vertically over the floor, and then reducing the opacity to something like 20%. I’ll use the airbrush tool to fade the reflection the further away from the back wall it goes.
There is an extra step involved if your wall isn’t straight. You may have to select the parts of the wall that go out and move them up. (Or down, depending.) You’ll probably see what I mean if you try this yourself!
And then on a layer above it all, I’ll start adding more airbrushed lighting. (With, in this case, a blue tint.) This helps set the mood. It also helps draw attention to the things I want to emphasize because one’s eyes will likely go to the brighter part of the image first.
Done!
Hello again! Yup, this devblog took a little break for Halloween but now it’s back for a fresh new month.
Remember the new area I mentioned in the previous progress report? Here’s a little preview of something in that place!
It’s might just be a small room, but it’s part of something bigger and more significant! And, well, I wanted to show at least something.
Oh, and those critters in the first picture? You might see them in the game. Fun fact: They love popcorn.
Thanks for staying with me!
