Affectionate gents around the turn of the last century, one bearing the usual glum expression, but the other a hint of a smile. I really ought to gather all the photographs featuring one fellow seated upon the lap of another, I have but a few tagged thus.
From 1900, another truly charming example of two men sharing one seat in the photographer’s studio - lap-sitting seems to be a much favoured choice for the affectionate gents of the era.
Two noteworthy things about this photograph, firstly and most immediately apparent the perched pose halfway between chair arm and lap, and secondly, that extraordinary parted and curled hairstyle of the gent on the right!
