A pair of illustrations done a little while ago for the Lumen Éditions release of Strange the Dreamer. Written by New York Times bestselling author Laini Taylor,Strange the Dreamer is an epic fantasy about a young librarian, a mythic lost city, and the half-human children of murdered gods. While ultimately the illustrations were used for promotional material rather than the cover artwork, it was still a joy to be a part of the French edition release. The audiobook was my soundtrack while painting Lazlo and Sarai, and I was mesmerised by the dark beauty of their world!

The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around. Since he was a boy, Lazlo Strange has dreamed of the mythical city of Weep. A fortuitous opportunity allows Lazlo to join the hero Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors on their journey to search for the lost city. The answers Lazlo seeks await in Weep, but so do many more mysteries - including an unexpected bond with the blue-skinned goddess who visits Lazlo’s dreams.
