What’s LARP without some fun?
Last week at Swordcraft I had an amazing time as General, where I ordered over 100 people to fight for my warband.
It was an extremely difficult fight but it paid off, with a victory of 6 to 1.

Busy making bags again! I’ve missed making them so will be doing quite a few more in the future.
This one is the Autumn Fox bag and is now for sale over on my etsy shop, so if you are interested in giving him a home head on over there!

I can’t remember, did I tell you guys I work in a leather shop now? I’m finally to the point where I’m familiar enough with the craft to start designing my own things and hdksjdbfjskdn I’m just gonna have to live in the shop now, I have too many ideas

Finished the last major piece of Ordon Link’s costume today! His little belt bag and the belt it attaches to. It took me an annoyingly long time to figure out how the pouch was magically suspended on his hip below the “obi” thing… But my compulsive scrolling through medieval garb on Pintrest paid off when I stumbled across something very similar that was suspended from little strappies off the belt. I still don’t know WHY historically it hangs away from a belt like this? But it worked!

Also I had way too much fun hand stitching and “tooling” the leather for this little pouch. I’m a bag designer by profession, but that really just means I draw pictures of bags all day long for my corporate overlords. Actually MAKING a bag is a rare and exciting thing!

Now all that’s left to do is the dreaded WIG… but then Katsucon hooray!!

One of two leather glasses holder things I made in November inspired by this  much nicer and sturdier glasses holder by Nalata Nalata

My first leather project has taught me that leather work is not for meeeeee.

I had no idea what I was doing in choosing leather and what I bought was very soft and floppy. Also despite creating holes with an awl, it was still very hard to sew the tabs on. Self-critique on the design of this: hanging it from clothespins works, but maybe I should grommet some holes at the top to hang from nails or hooks. Or maybe lace something through grommets onto a dowel.

This is what I get for just having an idea and just rolling with it without much planning or research.
