@kleenexwoman The people you’re referring to as “trans” among the Ojibwe were exclusively effeminate homosexual men. In fact ALL cultures you TRAs claim have historically “lived happily with trans people” have done the same thing: they “other” effeminate males into a subservient and oppressive feminine roles because they were not seen as “proper men.” This is not “trans,” this is homophobia and misogyny. Effeminate males are not women, never have been and never will be.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but in native cultures typically couldn’t only effeminate men be othered like that? Like I remember reading that the “third gender” typically was only for men and women rarely if at all were in this third category.
also, almost none of those third sex around thr word are voluntary positions, you dont get to be that because you wanted, because you are gay and want to live as the other sex, nothing like that. THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU found you so weird that they expelled you to another cathegory, they demoted your from your sex cuz you are not what they want it.
