“Why is she still here? Nate, that woman is the worst,” Eliot watches you talk to Parker, giggling as if you are suddenly best friends. He doesn’t like that you get along so well with his friends and partners. Eliot considers the team family and won’t allow you to mess with them. “It’s been four months now.”
“She’s an endless source of information, and has friends in the right positions,” Nate says while Alec watches you talk to Parker with adoration. He admires your reputation and the way you carry yourself.

“Don’t forget she easily hacked into my system. How can you not like her? She’s smart, beautiful, strong, professional, and last week she saved a little girl’s life,” Alec argues. “I don’t know, man. I think she’s a good addition to the team. I like her.”
“You like her as you do not know her. Y/N means trouble, a lot of it,” furrowing his brows Eliot watches you walk toward the fridge. “I hate her.”
“Yeah, yeah…You hate her. You don’t trust her,” Alec rolls his eyes. He sees the way Eliot looks at you and doesn’t believe a single word. “You blame her for all the bad things happening in the world. She’s not an evil person, nor a monster.”
“She’s the devil in disguise, Hardison. Stop acting like she’s one of us. Y/N will never become a member of this team,” Eliot storms out of the room, slamming the door shut.
“No, you won’t check on my identity again, Officer,” you glare at the man that got in your way. He doesn’t want you to enter the office and you are slowly losing your patience. “I’m Agent—what the fuck!”
You squeak as Eliot simply knocks the man out. He huffs and flashes you a smirk before kicking the door open. “Seriously, Spencer? Why do you always act like a caveman?”
“We don’t need you in our team,” he retorts as you follow him inside the room. “You are nothing but an imposer. I don’t even know your real name.”
“You know my name. Unlike your friends, I don’t need a fake name,” this time you huff. “I’m not some criminal mastermind or a serial killer.”
“How shall I know, Y/N? You are nothing but a shadow lurking in the darkness to jump at me. I don’t know if you are a good person or a monster.”
“A monster? What I did in the past was justified, Spencer,” you whip your head toward Eliot, growling the words. “I never judged you for the things you did, never even mentioned I know every little detail about your activities. Your dirty secrets are not as safe as you believe they are.”
“What do you mean?” Eliot twirls around to glare at you. He clenches his jaw, ready to break your neck or bend you over his knee to spank the life out of you. “I don’t have time for your games.
“Damien Moreau,” it’s a low blow. You know it the moment Eliot flinches at the mention of Damien Moreau’s name. “I know what you did for him. Don’t act all heroic after all the things you did. I can still look in the mirror. Can you say the same about you?”
“Y/N—how?” he’s taken aback. “No one knows about my connection with Damien Moreau. It’s in the past and we took care of him. My team and I. They know I worked for him.”
“See,” you turn back around to look through the files, “that’s how you make me feel all the time. I did horrid things in the past too. Not out of evilness, only to—”
“Get over your past?” Eliot places his hand on your shoulder, making you flinch. “You never told me why you hired me back then.”
“You were a hired hitman, nothing else. I needed someone to go in there and kill that bastard,” you refuse to give Eliot more. “The rest is none of your business, Spencer. You got your money, and I got a dead stepfather.”
“Stepfather, huh,” he presses on, making you sneer. “I thought he was just some guy you wanted dead. A bad guy if I recall right.”
“Can we focus on the job before anyone finds us here? Nate needs the information and I’m already getting a headache here…”
“Good job, Y/N. Thank you for your assistance,” Nate watches you gather the things you left at their new headquarters. “What are you doing?”
“It’s time to move on,” you lie, glancing around the room. You avoid looking at Parker who became a good friend over the last months. “You have a good team here, a great one. Nate, you don’t need me around. Everyone brings in their specific talent. I’m just…”
“But you belong to us now too,” Parker insists. She gives you an odd look before storming out of the room, slamming the door shut. She’s usually not emotional, or angry. Parker is no one to openly express her feelings.
“What was that?” you wonder aloud. “Is she mad at me?”
“Parker had a hard life, being put into the foster system at an extremely young age. The poor girl was bounced from foster home to foster home. I think some have been abusive in some way,” Nate explains as you feel your chest tightening.
“The foster system in this country is the worst sometimes,” Sophie watches you intensely as you drop your gaze to the little scar on the back of your hand. “It’s not that stepparents’ are any better. They pretend to love you, only to break your trust…and bones…” You clear your throat, not missing the way Nate looks at you. “Or so I heard.”
“So, you are still causing chaos and trouble only to leave the moment your façade crumbles down,” Spencer barks the moment he enters your hotel suite. “Parker is not talking to anyone, not even Hardison. Sophie is giving me the cold shoulder and Nate told me to talk to you. What did you say to them?”
“I told them that I got to leave, just like you wanted. You didn’t want me on the team, so I’ll take my leave and cause trouble in some other town,” you bend down to pick some clothes up and stuff them into your suitcase. “I never planned to stay for so long.”
“You were right,” he steps closer to cup your face with both hands. “The worst thing I ever did in my entire life I did for Damien Moreau. And I… I’ll never be clean of that. Never. I can play the hero for a hundred years and won’t wash away the sins I committed in his name.”
“I don’t know what you did,” you admit, eyes dropping to his hands on your face. “I just read the name along with others in a blacked-out document. I-I don’t know a thing, Spencer. Nothing.”
“Y/N, why did you want me to kill your stepfather,” shaking your head you try to keep the tears away. “Baby? Please.”
“Please don’t ask me, Eliot. If you ask me, I need to lie to you again and I don’t want to lie anymore,” he leans closer to press a surprisingly soft kiss to your lips. “I can only tell you he deserved what he got.”
“I won’t ask, promised,” he slowly walks you toward the bed, kissing and nipping at your lips. “If you want to tell me, I’m here.”
“Just like you want to talk about—” Eliot silences your sharp tongue before you can anything stupid. He smirks against your lips, chuckling as you slap his shoulders. “I can’t breathe, idiot.”
“How about I’ll make sure you are out of breath in not five minutes,” you squeal as Eliot pushes you onto the bed and pins your hands above your head. “Up or down, baby. How do you want it?”
“I want you to go down on me, and then, you can be on top,” he hums before starting to unbutton your pants. “No tricks, Spencer. Do it right or don’t do it at all.”
“How about staying a little longer,” you got comfortable on Eliot’s chest, but chuckle at his words. “I mean it, Y/N. I know we are butting heads all the time, but I’d like to have you around.”
“You mean your team wants me to stay, Spencer,” he laughs as you avoid answering his question. “I can give it a thought. Just give me a bit more time.”
