“Have you heard?” Your friend asked, sweeping the floor of the flower shop with you.
The flower shop you owned was a popular one. Infact, it was the most famous one in the kingdom. Your friend made the flower deliveries to the castle while you maintained the shop and during closing hours, you both cleaned it before calling it a day.
“And what exactly may I have heard?” You halted your work to look at her.
“Are you seriously not caught up with the gossip that’s been going around? It’s one of great importance,” your friend seemed so shocked it, almost made you laugh.
“Well would you do me the great honour of telling me this very important gossip,” you exaggerated your words a bit and smiled.
“Well, prince Akaashi Keiji is betrothed. He is to be wedded this spring, or so I’ve heard from the maids when I went to deliver flowers,” you felt your world shatter at those words but you maintained your previous expression. Your hands were shaking but thankfully your friend didn’t notice the sudden change in your demeanor.
