I always see people saying that if JKR hadn’t had Remus and Tonks start dating, no one would’ve shipped them. It’s true. But I think she did it because of Wolfstar. Like what better way to stop fans shipping characters than putting one of them in a canon relationship. Only it didn’t work! Hah!
Also, no hate to Remadora. I ship them. Just saying.
Eh try again. The first Remadora fanfictions were published mere days after Order of the Phoenix was published. People saw something in them and there was a little bit of fandom that were shipping them already before they officially became a couple. No one knows why JK decided to pair them up, but it was most definitely not because of Wolfstar (nor did she seem to particularly hate it since she gave an award or something like that to a Sirius Black fanfiction site which was mostly made up out of Wolfstar ffs).
So no, she didn’t do it because of Wolfstar, my guess is just that she said she knew at the end of OotP that Remus will also have to die since Arthur didn’t and decided to give him a similar ending to James’s.
