LINGERIE REVIEW -
LASCIVIOUS LINGERIE KITTY BRA, SUSPENDER AND OUVERT BRIEF

I have lusted over Kitty by Lascivious for longer than I care to admit. It has always just been bad luck on my part that I haven’t been able to afford the set and missed every flash sale/not had funds at the time of said sale but… my time finally came this year. I am a firm believer of there being a time and place for everything and this time I not only got Kitty but the Captain Bikini. I impromptu struck gold. (Well, black and frilly)

I cant begin to describe how soft Kitty is, no pun intended. The combination of the near-perfect fit of the set and the sultry soft satin base is just faultless. If it weren’t for the fact that this set isn’t designed to be worn under clothes, it would be a splendorous daily to wear.

I brought Kitty in a 32B and small suspender and brief. Lascivious has quite clearly put a lot of time and thought into the fit of each piece because although the bra is an entirely different type of fit in comparison to the brief and suspender they all manage to be both lightweight and comfortable. The bra is actually quite tight and structured whereas the suspender and brief are not, they are almost free-flowing. The bra is taut and strong but has a flexibility in it that makes it move fluidly with your body whereas the suspender and brief don’t have structure built in like the bra but are elasticated and mould around your body like a second skin. The combination is unusual but remarkable. The set is so so comfortable that you could easily forget you were wearing a three piece set.

I don’t generally buy sets to be suggestive but this set thoroughly makes me feel salacious and sexy and I mean, Kitty looks utterly show-stopping. The ouvert style of the bra and brief are so raw it just can’t help but be unabashedly risque and the layers of frills make the set frisky and kittenish to boot. Everything is designed on this set to be titillating. Kitty is definately made to be seen.

Kitty makes me feel like I am something exciting which at this point in my life, I really need sometimes and it gives me life and energy. Every part is made and designed with care. The tulle frills are poised so that there is cover enough for the set to be ‘pin up peep showesque’ yet enticing all at the same time. All the edges are finished with beautiful ruching (Even on the ouvert brief which I have seen neglected on other sets before) and the set is framed with a bow in the centre of the bra and brief. It is simply wonderful to see a set finished to perfection. Kitty is everything I wanted it to be.

Lascivious very much stays true to luxury lingerie. It is noteworthy that Kitty comes in both black and ivory and Lascivious brings out  playful variants every so often (at the moment the set is available in purple and has previously been available in latex in collaboration with William Wilde). Kitty retails in full at £255 but Lascivious has plenty of flash sales and offers that makes them an attainable luxury brand not out of the realm of those who need to save.
I will mention that Lascivious has fixed postage fees so you are better to order more together as opposed to individually to save on costs in that respect. (Sadly I forgot to order stockings and will need to wait till my next order but that’s by the by). Kitty is definitely worth the price-tag and I say that with utmost confidence, and with the quality and care provided by the brand, they will definately see me return as a customer.

LINGERIE REVIEW -
L’AGENT SIENA SOFT BRA, SUSPENDER AND BRIEF

I brought Siena on a whim alongside Lucila and I was sad to say that both sets were disappointing especially after my first purchase was Esthar a while back and I loved it. I’m not sure if blogging about Lucila will be beneficial but I will consider it as Lucila has entirely different points from Siena. I was hoping to purchase these two sets and write up something to reignite my passion for what I considered an affordable yet appealing brand but this time, I fell flat.

Siena is particularly difficult to photograph in real life because it is actually a very very dark navy laced with gold and the product photos show the set as almost a light blue. I wasn’t disappointed, if anything I prefer a darker set but this was the first time a product photo truly deceived me.
Visually Siena is very pretty in the right lights. It is fashioned out of a floral lace with the metallised fibres woven into the lace and fabric which, if you are in good lighting, can really appreciate but nine times out of ten the darkness of the set overshadows the details that have been put into the design. I think you either need a good clean natural light or a glitterball and light show to really show this off.

Siena is a really nice fit for a small bust and the satin underband and straps on the set are soft but the lace which, with the metal fibres, is quite scratchy in more tender places which overall stops the set from being comfortable. I mark very easily but my buttox and breasts were quite red and tender when worn with tighter clothing. I mean its not wholly uncomfortable but you are always semi-aware that you are wearing lingerie and if you are like me, mean you are always adjusting it in an unladylike fashion at the dinner table or at your work desk.

I really love the fit of the bra because it is encompassing and supportive and the knicker is fitted but not restricting. I purchased my standard comfortable 32B in the bra and S in the suspender and knicker. The suspender doesn’t fit as well as the S in the knicker and rides up on the waist as you move so if you do have slightly bigger or rounder hips I suggest sizing up for comfort. The bra and knicker fit really nice and snugly despite the aforementioned but it just doesn’t save the set.

I’ve always seen L’agent as an alternative option to Ann Summers. An affordable yet classy brand that you can wear alongside you dailies but add a touch of ‘oomph’. You can pick up a set from the L’agent sales for £30 or under and they always have a really wide range so I didn’t expect to see negative results on not one but two sets. I’d like to say I struck unlucky but two different fitting sets being like this? I feel like actually, I just got lucky with Esthar way back when or maybe I am being harsh and the team behind the design and build of the lingerie has changed since then? Perhaps it is me and I need to completely reconsider my styles to body shape when purchasing from L’agent? Either way I won’t be returning to them for a while because of this. Sorry L’agent but you really let me down this time.

LINGERIE REVIEW
LONELY LINGERIE PENNY HIGH WAISTED BRIEFS AND BRA

I’ve been aware of Lonely Lingerie for a long time and have admired the garments they have produced. Lonely Lingerie seems like a staple brand that I see many lingerie lovers own or pine for. When there was a sale on I ended up impulse buying the Penny set on a whim.  I wish I had brought with more consideration because although I like Penny I don’t love Penny and probably could have made a more informed decision. Nonetheless it is not a bad decision by any mean just one that you kind of kick yourself over.

Penny overall is very pretty and sultry and is made from sheer stretch lace. All of the edges are beautifully scalloped which adds definition to the already elegant lace design. The colour is a dusty green which is advertised as ‘mist’ but to me reminds me more of a light eucalyptus leaf colour. There is a black colourway of this set which, in hindsight, I wish I had gone for but nonetheless Penny is alluring in both. I have seen a few other lingerie lovers with this colourway and must say it is very suiting, just not to me on every level sadly.

Despite my own misgivings though the set is very much one of the most well fitted I own. The bra came in two options, underwire and soft and I went for the soft cup which is lightweight and very comfortable especially given how soft the fabric is. The bra band comes up very tight because the elastic is so strong. I imagine this would stretch out in time but if you don’t like very tight band like I do, I would advise to size up. I want to add that because of the tightness of the band it does give smaller cups an element of lift although the cut is likely better suited for a larger cup the design that tapers into the back is gorgeous as you’ll find a fair amount of bras are very disinteresting from the back. Penny is well thought out all the way around. You can cross the straps at the front or the back and although the straps look somewhat flimsy they are very durable and like the band, very strong. They do adjust to quite a broad sizing so it was easy to make them fit snugly.

The briefs I can speak equally as well of as they are comfortable and well fitting. The cut of the brief, like the bra, is very well considered and from the front is sublime. The cotton gusset does extend quite far up the back and personally makes the brief feel a little bit aged especially being, in comparison to the front, very flat. I just find with other lingerie I own the gusset is more subtle. In my mind the black colourway of Penny it doesn’t stand out as much but it is likely because I focus so much on the colour and lace combination that I want that to be the dominant aspect. I just feel the big gusset extending to the back overshadows that but that is entirely on a personal level.

Sadly noteworthy is that the front hook and loop does have a tendency to get stuck and catch, which I have found on all my hoop and loop fastenings bar Karolina Laskowska’s choker that I purchased.  The smaller waist band does not have this problem as it is just a hook that secures the fabric.

The cut of Penny is absolutely lovely and is definitely the standout feature of this set. Penny is well rounded and with the consideration on the bra and the extra waist strap looks great from the front or the back.

Lonely Lingerie is a mid-range brand as Penny would cost approximately £140 from new. Those in Britain also need to bare in mind you do get import tax, mine was just over £20. Penny doesn’t make me feel anything spectacular in terms of design but from quality and fit I will definitely revisit Lonely Lingerie in the future so I look forward to hopefully, with something better suited to me, another review.

Penny in Mist is not available any longer but is in black on the website.

LINGERIE REVIEW
AMORETU CROTCHLESS BODYSUIT SUSPENDER STOCKING

When Amoretu asked me to review some products, naturally I was happy to do so (especially in my previous chemise review which was very nice and I really liked it), but with the bodystocking I was definitely hesitant for two reasons. One is that I didn’t know how the bodystocking was going to fare as a budget piece and two, being that they strike me as being very sexualised which is not the reason I wear my lingerie. Overall, both of these aspects stopped me from loving bodystockings as a whole and sadly this piece in itself.

The thing is, I really like the concept of this bodystocking but it just isn’t me, it just doesn’t speak to me on any level. This bodystocking is all about the crotchless design, which ecompasses the buttox and shape of the legs and makes them look exceptionally good, but lets face it, crotchless designs are for easy access sex and that just isn’t my forte and doesn’t make me, on a personal level, feel sexy, but in having owned and tried this I understand why they would for others and appreciate the idea.

The quality is what you would expect for the price, you get what you put in after all. Amoretu, as previously mentioned is budget lingerie brand, but the budget hasn’t done the bodystocking any favours whereas could be overlooked in the Chemise. The hems are all turned in or frayed all over as op, making it very unfinished and imperfect, and what makes me most unhappy is the lines going vertical on the design to connect both laces which just aren’t aligned at all as I feel, visually, it really ruins the whole design. It is such a shame, it really is, because the bodystockings design is very nice and almost sultry with the floral design on the bust, hem and stockings. Especially the stockings as I can imagine myself wearing them, if they weren’t a part of the bodysuit and were stockings alone (especially as the suspenders were very flimsy and didn’t hold them high enough for me to show them off properly in my blog photos)

The fit was very snug and even though the design was complex in terms of having many exposed areas, none of the hems rubbed or were incommodious. The tiny straps and high rise on the bust don’t do any favours for a smaller bust and these feature on the vast majority of the Amoretu bodystockings so I feel they are more suited to a larger bust overall and definitely look more desirable on the product photos which I think really was my major crux, bodystockings look good in photos and not on me.

Bodystockings likely have more to offer than I can express (because I bet there are some raw, carnal individuals that would rock this) and it certainly isn’t Amoretu’s fault that I have found, in the time I have spent with the product, no love for the it. Amoretu have produced a comfortable and very strikingly provocative piece that I am sure ticks many more boxes for others than I.

LINGERIE REVIEW
WEAR CLEMENTINA CAROLINE BRALETTE AND THONG

I saw this set back when I was on holiday in June and the moment I laid my eyes on Caroline, I had to have the set. I have a penchant for both strappy styles and animal print so the combination of both set my lingerie lust to overdrive. When it was first posted the set was due at the end of June but was released early October. I was at work on my lunch break when I noticed and within that short timeframe the thong was no longer in my size. For a moment I was gutted but with a quick curious email, Wear Clementina’s Agnes was happy to make my size in the thong to match with the bra and in a matter of weeks, Caroline was mine.

Caroline is very bold and incredibly soft of the skin. The set as a whole is exceptionally comfortable to wear and, as may be visible, slightly tight (which is how I like my lingerie) so although I brought a size 8 in the thong I could have sized up to a 10. I went with my comfort zone 32B in the bra which due to being an elastic set, is perfect.

I am torn between whether the bra or the thong is my favourite aspect of the set. I can barely feel it around my torso it is so comfortable. I imagine this style wouldn’t be very beneficial to a larger bust as the cups are so light and delicate but for smaller bust styles, with the emphasis of the elastic frame around the cup, it really brings out the definition in the shape and size of the bust. The framing of the elastic on the leopard cup makes the style ever so versatile, and although I am not one for lingerie as outerwear, this makes me reconsider my own tastes as this would look great as outwear too.
The bra is front fastening with a hook and loop. Sadly the hook and loop, like many other of my lingerie, has a tendency to get stuck every so often on the fabric and can be a pain to get off every now and then. Nonetheless I always find front fastenings much comfier to wear and also with this style it allows for the back to be as beautiful as the front which I find is a rarity in lingerie. I absolutely adore the ‘skirting’ of the lace around the back instead of just straps.

The thong follows suit of the bra but in a more simplistic manner. As I find often with independant thongs the back of the thong is a little bit too big on my buttox but personally I negate this by wearing the thong high on the hips. The straps are doubled up so can either be worn flush or parted and the front of the thong is embellished with a tiny gold cross.

Overall I am still as excited about this set as I was back in June. The thong and bralette as soft and comfortable and sit flush on the skin. The stitch quality and detail overall is fantastic, especially in comparison of other similar independant brand styles, Wear Clementia excels. I will 100% be making more purchases from Wear Clementina because there is plenty more styles in the collection that makes me swoon.

You can find Caroline here (Although I am not sure if the fabric is all but gone)

LINGERIE REVIEW
BLUEBELLA CHRISTABEL BRA AND BRIEF

After purchasing the Nova set from Bluebella I was highly impressed with the brand. Bluebella is generally a good quality, affordable brand with high sex appeal in the way of the designs. I always had my eye on the Christabel set and was incredibly surprised when it dropped down multiple levels in the sale so this purchase was an absolute steal.

Christabel is a little bit of visual trickery. Don’t get me wrong when I was buying it I was never under any false pretence that this was going to be a sensible set for a day to day wearable basis but I do think it is deceptive in its retail photos. The set gives this ‘air’ of support in its retail photos when realistically it is very flimsy and non-supportive, even for a small bust. The quarter cup and straps are all an illusion of structure and wearing the bra as tightly as possible. Nonetheless I didn’t purchase the set with any pretences and ordered this to be nothing more than eye candy because, thats what it is, very very pretty.

Christabel for me, is all about that detailing on the quarter cup. The combination of the lace against the skin is simply lovely and very very sexy. I am really quite enamored by the small addition of lace to the centre of the bra that makes it a very ornamental piece. When you wear this you definitely feel good.
The brief in comparison is very plain only really mimicking the bra with the same lace applied on the front of the brief (which is deceptively difficult to see but is actually very quaint). I think the overall design of the brief could have had the same nude-lace on the sides to tie the bra and brief together more and also construct the same sex appeal throughout the design, that would of completed the set for me. I feel like had I have brought the red set all of the downfalls of this set would have been too much for me but the black is very forgiving and hides a great amount of sins.

Overall though the set is really lightweight and comfortable to wear, a combination of the unsubstantial support but very soft fabrics. I down-talk Christabel but as a whole I really enjoy the set, visually more than practically but I brought it to look good and look good this set does well. Realistically speaking this set is great for a smaller bust as you can get away without the support to obtain a very decorative set that is absolutely perfect for swanning about in or flaunting for someone special (yourself or otherwise, because it works both way). I hope this this set is a springboard for other more visually appealing sets that will encompass more than just the way the set looks.

LINGERIE REVIEW
BLUEBELLA NOVA BRA AND THONG IN RED

Nova. Possibly one of the most recognised instagram styles, more commonly in black. I think I saw this bra on instagram 100 times over before I caved in and purchased it myself. I was very dubious if it were going to be as amazing as the photos alluded, after all a lot of social media as we know is built on a foundation of white lies, but this bra does live up to its fame.

This set is the definition of seductive. Both the bra and the thong feature architectural framing with cut-out panels to shape and define your breasts and groin. This set just screams to be seen in the least subtle of ways.

The bra is a visual dream. What I find with the red set, as opposed to the black (which I likely will purchase at a constructive time) is that you can actually see the diamantes, embroidered floral motif and details along the cups and appreciate the feminine touch to the seductress of a design. The fit is very comfortable and does hold in place to cover those offensive nipples making this the perfect censoring but still outrageously out there bra. I could likely of moved from a 32B towards a tighter band to of avoided the slight slack in the straps and hold onto those tiny little boobs a big more snugly, but I kept the set out of excitement before realising this.

The thong is very much a love/hate battle in my mind. I love it because like the bra it is that wild mixture of overly sexy and beautiful embroidery but then it makes me think about whether I actually like cut-outs on my groin - I am undecided because bedroom-wise its seductively fun but daily wear-wise, not the best choice. Having a small landing strip it doesn’t pose me too much of a problem but I don’t personally can’t imagine anyone with a more natural preference would find this style particularly comfortable, although I could be wrong. I will likely, when I get my hands on the black set, get the brief to make a counter-blog on the style.

Overall this is an amazing piece of lingerie style-wise is perfectly flexible between underwear as outerwear, high fashion statement set or a really thrilling bedroom surprise. I like it as the latter, if there is one set that is guaranteed to make my other half swoon, its Nova. I wish the back were a little bit more striking to match the front but we can’t have it all, can we?

Nova comes in black, red and white on the website and Bluebella features 10% introductory discount for a right steal of a set.

LINGERIE REVIEW
AMORETU CROSS STRAP MINIDRESS CHEMISE

I hadn’t come across Amoretu until very recently. Amoretu overall seems to be a budget lingerie brand with the intent of providing good quality, sexy garments. Personally I find Amoretu reminiscent of Ann Summers to a degree. I was personally most attracted to the Chemise range they had available.

The cross strap minidress chemise they offer was by far one of the prettiest of what they have to offer. The design has a red and black counterpart but I felt that the black and white offered a more subtle, delicate attraction for me and I was especially drawn to the lace which is charming and effeminate. The design at the back being a cross strap is a nice element that allows you to really customise the fit to your body. I like designs where I have the freedom to tie something in a personalised manner, I am a traditional bow lady myself though so nothing exciting.

Being one size fits all (up to a US 10) the fit isn’t perfect but it does does hug my figure. Although the garment is not supportive it is still very comfortable and floaty. The chemise is a joy to lounge in around home. It is very lightweight as a whole, including the lace design on the bust. Personally I feel the set, although overtly sexy, is more beauteous especially with the striking lace design.

My major concerns come with the garment being exceptionally thin. I feel that even light hand washing would prove a trial for the chemise therefore this kind of product is destined to be short-lived. This is also apparent in the way that the chemise curls up at the hem. Nonetheless the chemise can be described as a whirlwind romance in terms of lingerie, a short but sweet affair that is enticing up until the very end. It did come with a matching thong although I had to replace it with one of my own black thongs as I am not entirely sure who the thong provided is meant to fit as it is teeny tiny but the continuity in providing a thong to match I do appreciate.

Amoretu is far from the likes of the big brands but is a promising, playful and dedicated brand for everybody, anywhere to enjoy. I have appreciation for universally available brands as they provide something for everyone with their playful and cheeky designs.

LINGERIE REVIEW
MISS CROFTON POPPY FLORAL PRINT BRA AND PANTIES

I wish I could remember which lingerie beauty I saw in this set that introduced me to Miss Crofton and set my floral desires ablaze because I wish I could thank them. Miss Crofton is vintage-inspired and playful which is an utter delight and a noteworthy mention is how much I love the imagery on their website which is quite unlike any other lingerie website I have seen yet.

The Poppy set has firmly gone into my wearable rota because it is an absolute luxury to wear. Of all the lingerie I purchase I often find it quite rare to find something this suitable for my everyday wear just because of what I do on a day to day basis. This set is exceptionally comfortable despite my initial concern about the chiffon and the ruffles and an absolute delight to own and wear, I’d even go as far as to say you forget you are wearing underwear at all which seems to be a resounding factor from other bloggers that I’ve seen comment on Miss Crofton lingerie.

The set isn’t structured but offers a lot of support from the snug fit and the elastic trim around the top, bottom and sides. I imagine this style likely benefits smaller busts more so than larger but I feel this style and the beautiful fit offers more support than other soft cups I own. Visually the chiffon looks like it is going to be rough on the skin but it is actually exceptionally delicate, light and comfortable.

Visually the set is a knockout. The array of colours are a visual feast and the choice of details is simply wonderful - I absolutely adore the choice of colouring for the bows that are an ideal mix of subtle yet stand-out and the visible seams. I have a penchant for florals but find myself very fussy about florals in lingerie and this just ticks all my boxes. I have nothing more to say than repeat how much I love this print.

I choose a 32B and an 8 for the brief, personally I like a tight fit so the 8 is very figure hugging on me although I could of easily gone for a 10 too and achieved what I imagine to have been the same results overall. The bra and brief have some ‘bagginess’ in the design which tapers into the ruffles in a really subtle fanciful way.

This particular design actually had a short as well as the panties which although isn’t necessarily my cup of tea did have me ‘umming’ and ‘ahhing’ about which to choose for a while. Miss Crofton has an array of florals to choose from including Poppy that are available to purchase on the website.

LINGERIE REVIEW
AGENT PROVOCATEUR STONE BIG BRIEF AND BRA

I originally bypassed Stone when it first came out for the AP SS15 launch and actually didn’t fall in love with it until I started seeing it endowed on all the different bodies of my instagram lingerie community. It was only when I saw it on real people that I really sat back and thought ‘damn, this set looks utterly divine on skin’, and so when the sale came round and after more than 40 minutes of freaking out about the price did I commit.

Visually Stone is breathtaking. It is a visual feast for the eyes especially on the bigger brief combination (Which I personally think suits the bra style better than the knicker) and the element of the skin and fabric marrying together is just sumptuous. The pattern on the lace is so utterly perfect in its mixture of feminine, in terms of the lace being so pretty, and provoking as the main focal point is the circular pattern that is framed on the centre of the brief. Overall this set is very empowering and when I wear suspenders with the set that are built into the brief, I do feel strong yet elegant and sexual all at the same time. I could shout to the heavens repeatedly about my visual love for this set but unfortunately the love does end there.

Sadly the construction of the set does fall under my expectations. I don’t know if this is me, although from passing comments on instagram and other blogs I hold in regard I do not feel this opinion is independent to myself, but despite AP pieces being held in high regard they have a lot of sizing/fit issues. The bra on Stone bunches up in the centre which for a small bust is a major problem as it does make my breasts look a little bit unsightly so the bra requires constant maintenance to keep the fabric flush. The brief is a tight fit - I either had to go tight fit or loose fit as for some reason the sizings of 2 or 3 doesn’t quite hug my oscure hips so the smaller set I sided with does cut into my bum to a degree.

It is sad because I love this set so much and it is very sorry to be thankful this was a sale purchase. Realistically I know there are many more independant brands that you don’t find these issues with for the price and when it comes to making a big splurge I will likely be going elsewhere. Agent Provocateur will always be a lingerie love affair but it seems the brand lacks reliability despite the utterly amazing designs and ideas that are gloriously put into the market with stunning ranges of colour and designs.

So Stone, you have taught me so much. This set is one that captured my heart and so many others and broke it all at the same time. Trying to look on the bright side though, at least this broke heart looks beautiful, right?

The set has retired now and new homages to the style are available online.

LINGERIE REVIEW
MIMI HOLLIDAY NARCISSUS BRA AND BRIEF

I fell in love with this holy cat themed set of lingerie. If it has cats, I simply must have it. Cats are life.

This is the first time I had brought from Mimi Holliday by Damaris and the set and quality exceeded my expectations. I must of been naive thinking that the cat-themed lingerie was going to be something that did not meet the same quality as the rest of its range, I guess I just expected this playful and enlightening  set to lack in… something. On the contrary, the set is designed and hand drawn by Damaris Evans herself and upholds all the beautiful attention to detail and craftsmanship that Mimi Holliday represents.

I originally hoped this set would be a staple in my lingerie attire although despite the quality being very good the comfort of the set fell slightly under par. It is comfortable, I cannot say it is uncomfortable in any manner, but the fabric is a little bit harsh on the skin and a tad itchy although this could just be because it was new because has begun to go away now I’ve hand washed it a couple of times and I hope with further TLC it will soften up more. Nonetheless the actual construct of the set is really great and simple with all the tiny embellishments you’d expect to be considered with a brand like this taken into consideration.

The set itself is so quirky and well designed it does make my inner cat lover utterly ecstatic and it does nail it down to why I brought the set. The whole set is predominantly composed of a swiss-dot mesh with cheeky red embellished nosed cats along the topline of the both the bra and the brief. This is all beautifully finished with a gorgeous scalloped waistband and cups. Even the back of the pant is fashioned with some interest with some triangular mesh to frame the bum in a very cute yet enticing manner. (I always appreciate a set that aims to frame the bum, as I am personally a bum-girl). Design-wise it really is an all rounder but personally, even through I suspect it is unavoidable, the seam in the centre of the cups does bother me to an extent and take away from the utter wonder of the embroidered cats as it is a little bit of an eyesore.

I did not purchase the set with a suspender, even though there was one available, as I did not like it - I personally wanted the cat design to follow the suspender all the way round as opposed to centre one cat face. I also chose this style of bra over the other choices (Of which there really was an amazing variety. Soft Triangle, underwire and this comfort bra) because I didn’t want this bra to be about cleavage but about the design and this style offers a mild degree of support that is just perfect.

All in all I am very impressed with Mimi Holliday and expect I shall partake in another set when something suits my style. They did do another version of this set in white called Absinthe but both styles are now unavailable to buy on the main website but are still floating about on offer on the internet.

LINGERIE REVIEW
FL*SH YOU AND ME POLKA DOT CROP TOP, SUSPENDER SKIRT AND KNICKER

I cannot remember how I discovered  Fl*sh You and Me but I remember seeing the Limited Edition Polka dot set and having heart palpitations over how exciting it looked and it was only a matter of time before I got my hands on it.  I can’t put my finger on why I was so amored with this set because it has aspects that I really don’t initially go for with lingerie but I have no regrets about making this purchase because the polka dot style is so striking.

The whole reason I brought the set was for the pattern; I just absolutely loved it and thought that it really complimented the styling of the set as a whole. I just love the vintage/modern combination with the distinctive off shoulder polka dot and modern strap.

The crop top unfortunately doesn’t do smaller busts too much justice and makes me feel a little bit flat but the sheer fabric counteracts that by giving that subtle hit of form and shape. I find it really feminine and elegant in an erotic sense that you can, but cant, see the whole of the book through to top. In fact, I find the sheer fabric empowering. Nonetheless the crop top doesn’t define the set for me personally anyway, it is the skirt that defines the set for me because the layering of the skirt suspender over the knicker gives a real audacious and brash sexiness. It really brings in more form around your hips and legs to make up for the lack on the bust. The skirt is raunchily short and tapers beautifully around where you wear suspenders to bring the entire ensemble together. I feel like this set is really malleable towards most body forms as although not tailored to one like some styles as I have seen a plethora of beautiful people of all shapes and sizes in this set thus far, there is something about the overall which seems to suit an abundance of shapes.

I purchased the XS size of the set so it fits very snugly and is very comfortable to wear. The fabric on the crop and skirt is soft on this set which is lovely because of the amount of fabric to skin contact and overall the quality is good. The seam on the crop from the bust is unnoticeable when worn which I was originally concerned about because I often find whites or lighter lingerie shows seems and construction lines poorly and the strap on the suspender doesn’t roll over or fold whilst wearing which other, similar priced suspenders I own, do.

I really have a soft spot for this set because it is very unlike me, which is very exciting and I give a big kudos to Fl*sh You and Me for tempting a different side of me. I look forward to having many moments sashaying about in this set as I am sure there will be many.

This set is no longer available but visit the website below as there are currently similar garments in different colourways and styles

LINGERIE REVIEW AGENT PROVOCATEUR ESME SOFT BRA, SUSPENDER AND THONGMy very first Agent Provocateur LINGERIE REVIEW AGENT PROVOCATEUR ESME SOFT BRA, SUSPENDER AND THONGMy very first Agent Provocateur LINGERIE REVIEW AGENT PROVOCATEUR ESME SOFT BRA, SUSPENDER AND THONGMy very first Agent Provocateur

LINGERIE REVIEW
AGENT PROVOCATEUR ESME SOFT BRA, SUSPENDER AND THONG

My very first Agent Provocateur purchase from AW12. It frightens me that this set is almost 4 years old and was the tip of the iceberg for what would develop to be a lingerie love affair for little me.

This set was an impulse buy after I had begun to discover luxury lingerie, this particular set was in the sale and I essentially panic-picked something that I just liked - I wasn’t very lingerie-educated nor had exorberant amounts of money at the time. Esme embodied everything I liked at the time, and still hold dear, even if a little bit youthful tacky in a sense. I always had a penchant for anything leopard print (despite now knowing good leopard print from bad leopard print, thankfully this set hit the sophisticated leopard print ballpark) and darker eggplant and mauve colourway.

I brought everything in AP’s size 1 and now I have filled out a bit with age it fits me much better than it did when I initially bought it. Nonetheless this set is one of the most comfortable sets that I own.

Made from stretch silk everything from the straps to the fabric is sublimely soft. The soft cup bra, albeit not particularly defining is all encompassing and supportive even if it is a little big on me. The thong is figure hugging but delicate and feels really soft against my skin; I often find thongs too tight and uncomfortable but I could easily wear this particular one on a day to day basis and I even acknowledge this statement with the suspender. The suspender makes the set for me by framing the bra and thong harmoniously. I love a minimalistic suspender a lot so this being a traditional four strap, single band, is simplistic perfection.

This set started my whole lingerie journey off and will remain a favourite despite its imperfection. I think the 70s-esque style particularly suits my body and makes up for the imperfections of bra sizing. The colourway really suits both my skin tone and my hair colour which makes the overall structure of the set stand out and define aspects of my body.

At the time, and still now, I always felt it was not a favourite amongst avid AP collectors but for me this set is just right. It embodies a sense of my younger self that reminds me to buy lingerie for what you like every so often, not what you know. The set isn’t a trend, nor a classic, but is a sentimental landmark lingerie-wise for me and I love it tenfold for that reason amongst the above others.

Agent Provocateur will always been on the more expensive side of lingerie, although catching them at a sale is always a prime time to get your hands on something beautiful. The Esme set is no longer available to purchase but Agent Provocateur always has some leopard hidden amongst its ranges.

LINGERIE REVIEW
NEARER THE MOON BUTTERFLY LACE OPEN CUP BRA AND OUVERT BRIEF

Nearer The Moon is one of the first, if not the first, independant lingerie brand that taught me about the ins and outs of a piece of luxury lingerie. I have so much to thank Tilly at Nearer the Moon for, for her totally phenomenal designs and lingerie sets and helping us understand luxury lingerie and what goes into it. (She makes amazing time lapse videos of her pieces which really do show the reality of the time that goes into these pieces of underwear art).

The quality of Nearer The Moon is always utterly grand, I could not begin to fault the quality of Nearer the Moon because the precision is infinite and shows brilliantly with the eyelash lace on this set . Everything about the construction and make of the bra and the brief are exquisite; there are no loose threads or edges on any of the lace and not an out of line stitch anywhere to be found. The only moderately visible construction aspect is the seam at the front of the brief although personally I feel it ties in with the overall structure of the design so is therefore not notable or out of place.
Both the bra and brief are incredibly soft which makes it really comfortable to wear. This set is profoundly lightweight and would make for excellent everyday wear for the more daring amongst the lingerie community. I ordered a 32B and a small brief which fits me snug. I was originally concerned the halterneck wasn’t going to both support the bra and keep the lace flush but the whole design hugs me like it were custom made.

I find this cupless style and ouvert brief make me feel irrevocably sexy and combined with the very feminine lace, I feel both elegant yet inviting (which is also why I combined the bra with the ouvert brief instead of the mini knicker as I feel it harmonises much better). The framing of the breast on the design gives the appearance of both size and shape without me actually having a great amount of either and the combination of the lace around the main structure really accentuates that further which is a delight as sometimes smaller breasts can have an adverse effect with cupless styles.

The lace itself is just absolutely stunning. I always fall deeper in love with this set as the butterfly wing patterns in the centre is so very clever. I know that the lace on this particular style has changed since I purchased mine last year sometime, but I have no doubt in my mind the current variation would have no impact on how pretty this set was and still will be.

Nearer The Moon edges towards being slightly higher on the affordability scale but a purchase from Nearer the Moon poses your ability to have custom sizing should your sizing obscure from the norm. A little saving is so so very worth it. Although this isn’t one of my regular rotatory sets, it easily could be for some of you out there, for me it comes out for photoshoots and time in the bedroom more than regularly. I will always buy from Nearer The Moon and there will certainly be more Nearer the Moon coming to the blog in the future.

Mini Note: The snakeskin pasties are also Nearer the Moon.
