“What would you like me to make for dinner tonight, darling?” Elizabeth asks you over the phone, she was on her way to the grocery store on her way back from work. "Actually, I was thinking…can we cook together?“ You ask hopeful.

It has been a dream of yours to cook with your partner ever since you were little. When Elizabeth said yes you were extremely excited and had the biggest smile on your face. "To actually answer your question, I don’t have a preference tonight. Anything you’d like to teach me how to cook is fine, I’m just so excited we get to do it together." 

After saying your ‘I love you’s’ over the phone before hanging up you look up some cutting techniques on YouTube. You wanted to impress Elizabeth and knowing your cooking wasn’t going to get that response, since no one ever thought you how to cook, thought this would be a great way.

When Elizabeth comes home with the groceries you excitedly great her at the door with a hug and a kiss. You take the bags from her and say, "Let me put these away and in the meantime you can take your shower. And after your shower I want to hear all about your day, my love.” Lizzie kisses your cheek softly after saying, “Okay baby, I love you.” You’re already halfway to the kitchen when you turn around and tell her you love her too. 

You cuddle up with Elizabeth on the couch after her shower and talk about both your days, until Elizabeth asks if you’re ready for some cooking. You have probably never gotten up faster in your life. Lizzie laughs at your eagerness, “ Someone is excited.” She says getting up after you. “Yes, baby, I’m so excited! Cooking together with my partner has been on my bucket list for ages." 

In the kitchen you get all the stuff you need ready. Lizzie asks if you would like to cut up the vegetables while she gets the water cooking and tells you more about the dish and how to prepare it. You agree instantly, this was your moment to impress her with your newfound cutting skills that you had yet to test out.

You start chopping away and are even a bit impressed with your own skills. "And you say you don’t know how you cook.” Elizabeth says as she wraps her arms around you from behind, placing a soft kiss on your shoulder. "I can’t cook, this is just cutting.“ You say shrugging your shoulders. "Hey, don’t undermine cutting, it’s a very important part of cooking actually and you’re doing an amazing job." 

You melt into her touch by her praising words. "Baby, you’re distracting me from my very important cutting work.” You say jokingly. You put the knife down to spin around in her arms and kiss her passionately. “Thank you for making my dreams come true." 

Elizabeth grabs your waist and turns you back around to face the counter, “How about we save the kissing for after dinner, chef y/l/n.” She jokes placing another kiss on your shoulder before she turns around to do her part of the prep work.
