The Alcoholic

You once had everything you now lost;

All the things you wanted to do at no high cost,

All that you had until you threw it all away,

Now that your binge drinking is there to stay..

You once mattered to everyone you no longer do;

You were part of a family who dearly loved you,

Had friends and colleagues you saw through..

Now you’ve got nothing or no one to turn to..

But it’s not too late to get help that’s still about;

That’s the only ticket to recovery as well as a way out,

A way of winning back everything and everyone…
