Hello, hello! I’ve finally finished chapter 2 of my CORB fic How to Avoid a Scandal. It’s up on AO3 now, but here’s one more snippet:

Our plan had been to keep things as close to the truth as we could so that we had to lie as little as possible. That way, we’d be less likely to slip up later and make a mistake.
We told him that we’d started dating during our summer holiday.
“When last season ended, we’d gotten so used to spending all of our time together, that we kept on hanging out,” Simon explains. Which is actually true. Between the movie nights with too much takeaway, morning hikes in the Santa Monica mountains, and the half dozen shopping trips to IKEA to furnish Simon’s apartment (which had been hauntingly bare for two years) it felt as if we spent more time together than not.
And one more bit from further on in that scene:
[Simon] is very convincing. I, on the other hand, didn’t have to act at all. Because that summer was, in fact, when I realized I was falling in love with Simon.
