Will, Tessa, James and Jessamine: *panicking about Lucie’s involvement in necromancy and her running away from home*

Lucie: *packing a bathing costume for Cornwall bc one never knows*

delilahssbard:

The way Lucie and Jesse are acting like a married couple without being actually married made me smile from ear to ear. And he even hints at it, saying that he is lucky to see her “as if I were your husband,” watching her while perched on the bed as she prepares to go to bed. As if this was normal routine for them. Ordinary, like breathing.  And the way Lucie blushes shyly when he compliments her, telling her that her hair is different shades because he paid attention to details, even though she thinks it’s a dull brown. The way he is keen on brushing her hair gently, to take care of her by just doing what he can because he knows he can’t do much. Being solid, not just literally, but also as a comforting presence, offering himself and his words when he knows he can’t give her more in that moment.

CHAIN OF IRON SPOILER: Will vs. Malcolm

The matter is very complex and I am committed to understanding it more, so let’s go in order!

Lucie managed to resurrect Jesse ALONE, thanks to her power and not to necromancy, so she didn’t need Malcolm’s support, so she shouldn’t owe him anything.

Of course, after immense power she collapsed and weakened, Jesse held her in his arms because he had come back stronger thanks to the runes or something else.

So when Malcolm comes in and sees the whole scene well he said they had to run.

Now imagine Jesse who just woke up and doesn’t know what deal Lucie has made or how she resurrected him so he thought that following Malcolm was part of the plan, but ifLucie moments before falling unconscious would have been thinking “I no longer need to go with him, I did it alone Jesse, there’s no reason to run away, my parents will help us, I didn´t do anything against the law” but she didn’t have the strength to said it. But Malcolm knows that Lucie was able to resurrect Jesse so she would be able to resurrect Annabel, so he wasn’t going to miss out on the opportunity.

So technically he took her.

So I understand Will’s reaction even though he doesn’t know all the facts, but in some way he has to save her.

Although Lucie initially agreed to go with Malcolm, it was only on the condition of resurrecting Jesse, so we have to see what will happen in that week before Chain of Thorns.

Will they try to run away? Will Lucie owe him something from her because of his hospitality or because something serious happened to her after Jesse’s resurrection and does she need his help?

I want to know your opinion! What do you think @lucie-blackdale

i think lucie would want to help malcolm at first, because it seems to be in her nature to want to help others. she’ll help probably by raising annabel’s ghost and finding out where she was buried (like how they originally agreed), but malcolm will eventually demand that she tries to bring her back from the dead like she did with jesse. however, raising jesse might’ve done some serious damage to lucie’s abilities, right? she might not even be able to physically help malcolm, as much as she wants to, adding to malcolm’s hatred of shadowhunters (particularly the blackthorns) - cue the angstttt

i definitely think lucie will still try and help malcolm, because that’s the sort of person she is, and also if he’s found them somewhere to stay hidden while they figure out what to do with jesse, she’ll probably be grateful for that. however i think it’s very possible that she will not be able to speak to annabel’s ghost (she may have exhausted her powers bringing back jesse) or that he’ll try to force her to bring back annabel and she won’t be able to. if the blackthorns are descended from lucie and jesse, this will probably make him harbour even more of a resentment for them, because lucie had succeeded in bringing her love back but failed to bring his.

at the same time, i don’t think malcolm will do anything particularly evil, because he was still trusted by shadowhunters a century later, so even though will is angry, i think it’s unlikely he will be regarded as a villain, and he may cover up the anger he feels?
