The Half-Zygerrian créchemaster and Jedi, Bernardeau “Bernie” Namya was a competitive, stubborn, kind, empathetic and funny man who spent the majority of his life committed to raising and caring for Jedi children. He was a skilled duelist, though he preferred to spend his days reading, playing rugby, or teaching younglings to read.
His Padawan, the Twi'lek Leonie Luroon, was an inquisitive and naive soul with a heart of gold. Blessed with the skill of psychometry where she otherwise lacked in the Force, Leonie just barely skimmed through the trials by the skin of her teeth. A clever girl, Leonie loved puzzles, riddles, and mysteries. Despite being plagued with insecurity that she was not a good Jedi, she was the third youngest to ever be Knighted at 17 years of age. Her pacifism and indomitable hope for a better future got her through the first year of the clone war, as well as the care and oversight of her dear clone Commander, Lock.
Commander Lock was a steadfast, no-nonsense soldier who was personally trained by Alpha-17; he too loved puzzles, riddles, and mysteries, though complex technology for the most part eluded him. Loyal to the bitter end, surprisingly humorous, and dedicated to the wellbeing of not only his clone siblings but also his General Leonie, who was like a daughter to him, Lock made fast friends with Bernardeau.
Bernardeau and Lock fell quickly in love; despite Bernie’s reservations about the imbalance in their lives, their frequent proximity and their shared pragmatism swept them up into an intense romance which resulted in the two of them eloping four months after meeting.
A year into the clone wars, Leonie and Lock ventured into a Sith Temple to recover an artifact. Lock emerged with only blurred memory of what happened inside, a holocron in his hand, and no General by his side. Leonie died inside of that Temple, and Lock drowned his sorrows nightly by speaking to the holocron as if it were a diary. This process unintentionally imbued the holocron with the essence of his soul- a sort of copy of himself.
Lock and Bernardeau grieved the mutual loss of their dear Leonie, and Lock retreated to Kamino, where he was reinstated as Commander of the Kamino Guard Security Forces for the final two years of the war. When Kamino fell into the ocean, Lock died with it; however, his soul lived on in the holocron, found not long after by the Rebel soldier, Bernardeau..
