Do the wlw end up together : Yes

Do you like fake marriages? Best-friends-to-lovers? A wide assortment of LGBT side characters? Well then do I have a book for you. I’m taking exams and wanted some light giggles and happiness in my life and boy, did this book deliver. Lo’s grandmother passed years ago, but she hasn’t been able to touch her massive inheritance because of one tiny little stipulation: she has to be married to collect. Now she’s between jobs, short on rent, and in desperate need of a quick cash infusion. Lucky for her, her best friend Cara is also in need of money, or grad school is entirely out of the picture. Cue the obvious: a quick courthouse wedding followed by an annulment because, after all, they’re just best friends, right? Best of all, these girls start off as close as can be so they can skip the weird getting-to-know-you phase of most fake dating tropes and skip straight to the bed sharing and denial of obvious feelings. I mean, Lo legitimately feels butterflies in her stomach and thinks, well, I must be coming down with something. C’mon! Something that kept me from rating this higher was some of the plot inconsistencies that I noticed throughout and that pulled me out of the narrative. But if you’re also in a sad exam-taking state and need an immediate dose of predictably saccharine plot, this might be the one.
