#mega time squad

an idea for a Shelton fic that I keep coming back to but idk if I should write because I don’t think there’d be much interest in it

maybe there’s a time where the two of you take an impromptu vacation (which you know would mean you’re having to lay low) but to alleviate any stress you might have about being found, Shelton would take you somewhere a lot further out from Thames than you’re used to, to a vacation home that his family used to frequent when he was younger (before things became fractured for…obvious reasons ) but it’d actually be a rather nice change of pace for you both, being able to venture out into town together without the threat of being seen, him taking you on all sorts of dates to make up for the ones he can’t take you on back home, etc.

while in the middle of your stay, some unexpected guests would arrive; one morning you’d wake to what sounds like someone letting themselves in, obviously in a bit of a panic you would alert Shelton, who’d go off to investigate… and what he finds would set him off which would be none other than John and Kelly (both of whom you have no prior knowledge of; in my timeline you meet Shelton after the events of MTS, obviously this means he never died but maybe he has a scar from when he was shot? idk this isn’t really that important rn but wanted to clarify ) at some point you’re introduced, once aware that neither pose any threat to you (though I’m sure Shelton would try to convince you otherwise, given their combined history) and maybe you would somehow manage to convince him to let them stay, you’d get to know them, learn more about Shelton, etc. which I think would end up making Shelton jealous/mad/hurt … and it’d be a whole thing, him feeling like you’re betraying him, you thinking he needs to let go of the past, y’know, drama! but in the end everything is reconciled, wrongs are righted, Shelton’s relationship with Kelly is mended (I think seeing how he is with/around you would show her how much he’s changed for the better ) and maybe even with John, too
