One of my favorite places to visit and just relax in the winter time is Mendon Ponds Park in Honeoye Falls NY. The local black capped chickadee population was conditioned to feed from the hands of visitors over but other resident winter birds here will as well. In the start of this clip I’m feeding a male red breasted nuthatch and then feed a female downy woodpecker. While the nuthatches (both red and white breasted), chickadees, and tufted titmouse will feed from your hand quite readily the downy woodpeckers tend to be a little more suspicious. Taken 2/10/22.
