2. Meshuggah - The Violent Sleep of Reason

Meshuggah have long been one of the most ridiculously talented bands on the planet, featuring one of the very best drummers in the world in Tomas Haake. Though The Violent Sleep of Reason doesn’t offer anything too different from their previous efforts, it is certainly their most consistently mind-blowing record since Catch 33. There truly isn’t even a just-decent track in the lot.

I won’t bore you with a lot of details: if you’re a fan, you are already familiar with this record; if you aren’t, this *probably* isn’t going to sway you (although I’d give it a shot anyway). Instead, take five minutes and watch this video of Haake doing what very few other drummers on the planet can do. Simply unbelievable…
