#mexican silver
An early piece, circa 1930s, meticulously crafted by hand. This bracelet with chain of heavily worked silver beads features well known “Los Cocos” design by Justo Castillo. In 1935 Spratling established the first competition for the silversmiths in the shop, and Justo “Coco” Castillo was awarded the first prize for his entry.
The bracelet is marked simply Taxco, 980 - almost pure silver, and fitted with original hook and eye clasp.

Here is a gorgeous bracelet from Talleres de Los Ballesteros. At it’s front and center are two huge piece of Mexican turquoise. Absolutely a magnificent hand-wrought work of art from one of the premier Taxco tallers.
Circa mid-century, this is a large and quite substantial bracelet. The front measures over 2" wide. The turquoise has beautiful shading, and the silver work is superb. No issues whatsoever on thispiece.
