today we celebrate the life of our birthday boy.
the thing that got my attention today was that the michael jackson’s estate started a “diamond celebration”. particularly i think everything they do is so shallow… but surprisely this inspired me to think about the diamonds.
in high school i learnt that they were the strongest, the sharpest, the most precious, mostly found in africa. in popular culture i heard so much about them too: they’re a girl’s best friend, and they sometimes are in the sky (thanks rihanna!).
so if you think about that… michael jackson is the strongest, the sharpest, the most precious, an african american icon and a voice against every type of prejudice and hate speech. my best friend… and the brightest star in the sky.
so, this time, the michael jackson estate wasn’t so useless afterall.
