my favorite thing about heifengbaixi is how honest they are about their feelings with themselves and each other. when they’re rivals they bicker. as they transition to becoming friends they don’t hesitate against it and willingly let each other in. 28 episodes in and they’re still not a couple but i keep forgetting that because the moment they started developing feelings for each other they just let their feelings do what they will and didn’t try to hide their affection. and they’re so aware of the other’s feelings too. how many times if a situation arose where the other might be jealous they immediately cleared the air and showed that their feelings are respected and important. and this has prevented so many annoying plot points based on unnecessary miscommunications ive seen become the trope in other shows. i keep waiting to be disappointed but this show is just a breath of fresh air
