quite a few of the ghosts, especially in series 1, have some sort of moral failing that they have to overcome (or should overcome, anyway), e.g. julian’s classism or fanny’s homophobia. however, i’d argue that what robin has to unlearn is specifically his amoral outlook on (after)life. the reason alison is mad at him at the end of gorilla war is specifically because he harasses her with no reason other than something to do. being dead for so long has left him disconnected from the world of the living and the impact that his actions can have on other people - he’s down with murdering alison because to him the consequences of murder are meaningless; people die all the time so what does it matter? alison gives him a living person to interact with, a link to the physical world, which in turn allows him to properly see the fact that his actions do have consequences, and also gives him a sense of purpose again.
