@gabrielsthighz started a new atmospheric wintery fic over here that got me in mood to draw the scene at the end of the first chapter with the boys smoochin’ outside a diner.

Promised you guys an epilogue, didn’t I.

Maybe Gabe’s never dated someone who could pick him up before and the novelty of getting carried around is still a lot of fun for him.

This isn’t the epilogue comic I was talking about but it’s an idea for a scene from another comic I’m thinking about doing where Jack takes Gabe to Indiana when they get some leave time after SEP to experience actual midwestern Halloween.

Mostly I just noticed people almost unilaterally write Jack with abusive parents, so I submit my own headcanon that they loved him very much and raised him to be the kind of person we saw in Uprising, who listens to people and respects their opinions even if he outranks them.

There’s a little final epilogue page still to come, but thanks to everybody for reading!I hope you all enjoyed this saga of video game super soldiers talking about their feelings.

Mostly I just wanted to make it clear they came with condoms and they aren’t being kept in anyone’s wallet because ohhhh noooo that’s so bad for them, don’t do that. And don’t use hand lotion as lube, oil and petroleum products break down latex. This is your free health class lesson from a responsible old person on the internet who is concerned about running themes that seem to pop up in fanfics. Let’s just say Jack dropped that bag on the ground before he started gettin’ handsy on the last page.

Sorry to disappoint the people who were expecting this to get explicit but this is about the maximum level of PG13 spiciness to expect from here on out, I just wanted to write a comic about people who were So Into each other it would give everybody the warm fuzzies when they finally got together. And also give everyone more cocky bro Jack, because I think there’s a distinct lack of that in the tag for a guy with a one-armed Gaston pushups emote.

That good ol’ “Not sure if romance feelings or intense friendship feelings but don’t want to make it weird if I’m reading the situation incorrectly because whatever it is is too valuable to me to risk” feeling. Sort of like you worry if you do try to pursue something you’ll be like the dog that caught its tail and doesn’t know what to do with it.
