Me geeking out over Season 3 of Inuyasha:

“Oo, pretty. They’ve really upgraded the still background shots.

No wait, that isn’t… No, it can’t be. That’s too expensive. They couldn’t possibly have – omg that’s DEFINITELY a tri-layer multiplane camera! Which of the many studios working on this project brought that beautiful monster to the table?”

Seriously, that’s a MAJOR investment, but they made some awesome shots with it.

Looking back, I can see a few places where they used it judiciously before Season 3, but then they really took the brakes off.
