The whole album and their solos are amazing though so I genuinely love the whole album. Like Handong’s Chinese part and Yoohyeon’s full English is perfection!

Bright and sweet!

I like how this MV has some visual similarities and ties to Taemin and Key’s MVs. Those being IDEA, the vacant expressions of the patrons in the similar bar with the mask kidnappers/bad guys and BAD LOVE strange/alien enemies, gooey green mess on the walls and retro whismy.

Of course it’s SHINee so it would have similarities and SM but I love seeing the familiar styles as it connects their worlds! And just to add that Minho’s heartbreak MV had a ‘real world’ similarity to Key’s HATE THAT and slightly Taemin’s ADVICE.

Onew is such a staple. Whenever I hear his voice I just feel good. A cute, fun, silly but artistic MV!

Note: As usual I might add more later! I paused the MV at the enemies dancing hall chainsaw scenes as I HAD to write down the thoughts ASAP! This is just similarities and not what I got story wise but I don’t think it’ll be as deep as I go with other MV’s which is aways nice because its hard work haha! Edits are under the notes.

Okay some story notes.

Each time Onew roles the dice he is a new (haha) person. Not soul wise but status. He tries to navigate the different circles but the only person to not be masked and like him is the girl who keeps being pulled away from him.

I think it’s showing the struggles one does to play the part to enter a world where they are deemed worth enough to be seen but even then because its not you everyone is strange and there is a disconnect. It shows how people can be judged by their appearance and blocked from progressing, including in love. They chase him away constantly and try to frighten him off, even though she herself doesn’t want to be in this hellish hotel (social group) and needs Onew.

But people often decide the fate of others, even though they’ll say its easy just do what you want the pressures of life really don’t make a simple thing easy. The simple thing being walking away from the masked thugs and soulless people to Onew.

It shows more often than note you have to just get lucky in life to get what you want which is extremely unfair but trying is always worthwhile, especially for something important and priceless like love.

It also shows that you don’t need a hero to save you. That just having the support of someone who is there can give you the courage to be your own hero.

She managed to get the strength to fight back because Onew was doing his best for her and that you can make your own luck by being tenacious and brave.

It’s about changing perspectives, (the shoe on the other foot), can improve your chances. We all see that Onew sees her trapped in the hotel. But what if she just needed Onew to be brave himself to take a chance for her, for her to be with him.

Trusting people is hard, even ones we fancy so putting yourself out their like Onew is a huge sign of showing trust and love. After all taking a chance for love is always a risk. We see Onew come into danger multiple times but she showed it was worth it.

Lastly looks can be deceiving. They both saved each other. Even though she looked more in danger it was actually Onew who was in more trouble than she was and rather then act the part she fought for him too. Love is equal. It’s hard to get the balance right but effort is important. Like the effort Onew took to get to her, she repaid that effort by working hard and saving him which rewarded both of them by escaping together.

They both took a chance for each other. They showed that they are serious and that it’s not just a little game of trying to get 'lucky’.

The guitar reminds me a bit of OMEGA X What’s goin on and the MV had a 2nd gen feel! It’s so fun!

Their album is so good, like what a debut!

Retro, funky fresh with a 00s feel. Not trying to hard, just their energy. Really the essence of I’m Fearless! I don’t feel energy wasted, it’s just cool fresh. All the swearing that’s not over the top and natural like yes let’s go girls!

Another superb debut from ex IZ*ONE members!

I see it as both LE SSERAFIM and IVE have gone the elegant route like IZ*ONE had but in different ways.

LE SSERAFIM is ‘Real World Heroine’ elegance.

IVE is 'Goddess Fantasy’ elegance.

I’m loving this!

I never got into IZ*ONE because:

1: I didn’t watched produce

2: I knew my head would hurt (I’m already having that anxiety with Kep1er! Ahhh!)

I loved La Vien Rose, I mean who didn’t and my eyes where caught on Wonyoung and Sakura on tumblr recommended posts so I already was focused on them.

The sound is once again elegant but has that city funk like fresh feeling.

I love the high sporty looks. You don’t tend to see this in Girl pop unless it’s kinda problematic (over sexualised, boring or body shaming). Recent sporty looks that comes to mind is Athetic Girl by H1-KEY but goes more typical gym even though its well done. And for the elegant heroine we have the scenes like on the car and Sakura’s comic like motorcycle scene!

I really did feel the FEARLESS essence. This MV and group like IVE has ticked all the boxes and I’m in! Like they even said bitch, in a kpop debut! Hello!?

Also she looks a bit like Leeseo here! Just a fun little similarity! Oh and she looks a bit like baby Swan from Purple Kiss here!

Also I love their group name of being a reformed word of I’m Fearless. It’s a little ott, stylish, mysterious and once again elegant! Also very high fashion, like a perfume haha!

Energy booster, charging for summer!

Ah I love Dawn! So fresh and bright for summer! His style is always creatively unique!

Him and HyunA are like forever guests at the Mad hatters tea party, a little dark and scary but always fun and exciting but down to earth with their relaxed natures.

Superkind is an new group almost ready to release their debut. The groups consists of 5 members with 1 being an AI, shown in the thumbnail for the teaser.

This is adding onto the recent new style in kpop of computer idols. From K/DA, Aespa, Etern!ty and now Superkind. We can also include Vocaloid and even Vtubers, but they are like the opposite side of a similar coin.

I was a little unsure at the very start because although I love games and these types of concepts, which are still pretty rare (I guess due to technology, niche design and computer animation is expensive!) knowing that it’s only one member is a good sign to me.

It’s a good way to test the waters and the AI looks pretty good. Its a good mix between real and unreal. I’m curious if the member will be more of a gimmick or side character like Naevis even though he is a offical member.

Shows will be noticeably missing him unless controlled by the company and using holograms which will be pricey but if they are willing to do it for every live I’d be very impressed. Their own shows will be easier but even more scripted but if the lore and world building is good I’m more for it. If they have good enough programs they could even do vtube streams like CodeMiko’s model which is similar in quality.

I’m a MY and Aespa’s Ae’s are well….wanabe K/DA LoL models which they don’t utilise in the best way. I do like them and as I said I actually like these concepts a lot but sometimes it just comes a cross as jarring or gimmicky. I do like Naevis’s model though but she also wasn’t dancing haha! And they improved the graphics each time. I still wish they went more cartoony than LoL bratz but I overall don’t hate their design.

The AI member here looks AI but very good quality. It gives a cool fresh look a feel! Very game like and not as jarring looking or out of place and comical like Etern!ty’s deepfakes. Speaking of that they have improved tremendously with their latest comeback and it does seem to be a small passion project which does soften me a little to the questionable thoughts I have.

Back to Superkind, I do worry about the chance of Saejin being the most popular member and how the human members will feel but he’s only one member so the balance is more stable. If it was say 2 AI and 4 human and both AI was the most popular it would be uncomfortable. Like in Aespa’s case all members have their Ae self so it’s even.

I feel for sure in the future we will see more AI idols and groups form. I’m fine with this as long as it’s respected in their own category alongside human idols. Like a popular particular genre like Vocaloid’s and Vtuber’s.

So far I’m impressed with Saejin’s quality. He has a fighting game character look which I think is cool. Hopefully this group will be as exciting as I’m hoping.

Jiyoon is leaving Weeekly because of health reasons.

She was the member I noticed too, ugh not that any member of any group makes it easy unless they are a proven pos or something.

Regardless I hope she’s okay and her health improves.

I also hope that Chiwoo from Kingdom and Love from Onlyoneof are okay. Loves departure has been a while but I didn’t fully address it from confusion, only saying now as it’s topical.

There is no clear information as to why they are out of their groups so it’s another kind of sadness so I can only wish them the best.

Bonnie and Clyde is title worthy! It has their effortlessly cool style and it reminds me a bit of Atlantis by SHINee, the bubbly up and down sounds.

With the name ‘BEATBOX’ I presumed it would be more hard hitting or more like 90s Love sound but it’s giving me Disney vibes? Not that it’s bad it was just an amusing shock haha.

Very chill and down to earth vibes! I love seeing the different groups of people in the MV especially cause its very western, particularly American heavy influenced!

Hanse nonchalantly dropping his mega pint of wine, and shooting in the air with his pink hair… I’m–!!!!

Gosh my damn breath, come back!!!!!!

This MV and song is like looking into an drunk art panting, but sober so it’s almost normal but it’s not. Ohhhh hot.

A heart beating heist, hard to believe it’s so crazy but it’s real…. Real stupid hehe!

Ah that ending! I hope they continue this in the next MV! Ahhh don’t leave us wondering! This is good story building!

I love that they’ve kept with their-(breathes in this is long lol) classy, rich, superior complex high stakes games energy, with old art (ancient Greek/Rome), chess, glassy pristine looks but also dark and mysterious with some chaos aesthetics.

Spoiler ramblings below.

I’m still gutted with Loona not winning but it’s not a frustrating feeling because as a finally confirmed Ujung I’m happy they won.

Even though Loona was technically robbed because of the first round being cancelled because of covid. I also blame Mnet for being dodgy but mainly BBC because they push the girls too damn hard especially after their concert in February (which I saw yay! Lol).

Then again one can also ‘blame’ the comparison of the number of fans because for example Hyolyn had far less even though she’s an icon because she’s a soloist.

But you can’t really because it’s a show for the fans and gaining new fans. As I said it helped me finally cross the line for WJSN and Hyolyn.

So everyone wins, the winner rightly so gets a show. Everyone won exposure which is the point and to give perfomances for the fans.

All the groups finales were S tier. Each group did their very best perfomance for them and I enjoyed every one! It’s very hard to order them in favorites especially since they are all different so that’s why I happily and easily give them the same rank.

If I had to pick the winner in order and this is without bias, this is based on all stages, personality, presence etc it would be this:

However I did want LOONA to win, out of all the groups (and this isn’t biased) because they needed the win and the show the most to get more fans in Korea and as we know for everything Korea gets the most votes for Kpop which is usually fine as its 'K’ pop lol.

But as I said I’m very happy for WJSN and they 100% deserved the win, they also needed the show win too.

Of course all the groups would do great with the win but Hyolyn will be fine she’s an icon, Kep1er is fresh and just became a group, VIVIZ like Hyolyn will be just fine they are still beloved in kpop, Brave Girls have a national friendly charm and have huge support from male fans. For me this show was to give them confidence that they wasn’t just lucky or a one hit and I think they showed that to themselves by making it to the end.

Yes they did get a lot of emotional support but they deserved that support, they have struggled a lot and have shaking confidence, I’m sure this stabilised that quite a bit and I’m happy to see that.

Well done WJSN! I will aim to watch the show! Ah, now I want Queendom 3 already haha! My girl group fangirling heart is happy hehe!

I found out who won and the scores. Dw I wasn’t spoiled, I saw the post and decided I didn’t want to wait in case of being spoiled also I got anxiously curious lol.

I’m a little gutted Loona didn’t win and am shocked Hyolyn got 4th. But finally as A Ujung, I’m happy they won. They worked incredibly hard.

Loona was screwed by the 0 first points due to covid and Hyolyn has less fans compared to the other groups.

Aside from that every group did well and as a fan of them all I’m happy. The goal was exposure after all and they all got that, the winner getting their own show is just a boon.

Q2 gave me the push to be a Ujung and Bae finally. It feels nice in my heart!

I have to mention that like others I did hate the group voting of higher and lower or was just unnecessary, this show doesn’t need that type of drama but it’s Mnet so yeah. I haven’t seen the perfomances or episode yet but I will when it’s fully subbed.

Honestly all of these songs are amazing and I’m so happy for Queendom 2 so that these exist! This is of course only my opinions based on first listen impressions and not seeing the stage.

As usual I’m extra and can’t just do A B C tiers haha! But it’s my list and this is the right way it feels to me. I’m also not being biased which is kinda painful haha because I don’t wanna seem like I am not supporting my girls (tbf I am a multi fan), but that’s also just unimportant online pressures from delusional ‘fans’ and brainwashing from kpop companies so I don’t need to over explain myself so I won’t ha!

Honestly each group are S tier for their own sound, it’s really impressive and I loved each one! So it was actually quite difficult to tier without making everyone S but I’m trying to be concise which I find extremely difficult because I have an urge to explain why I came to my opinions lol this is why I need to make a youtube channel…. One day when I have a laptop or pc haha.

Only slight issues I have is Red Sun by VIVIZ being same name as Brave Girls as they just finally got something with the same name for their song even though its not a big deal but it could cause some issues or confusion and wjsn starting with saying orbit because I worry about dummies potentially saying they copied Loona when you know how dumb that is especially because WJSN is all about space as COSMIC GIRLS lol.

Speaking of fandom names it was smart of Brave Girls to put FEARLESS as the first lyric as its their fandom name and towards their FANtastic win. It was also smart of Loona saying Loona in the lyrics and for Kep1er calling their song THE GIRLS using repeating 'girls’ in their lyrics, it’s like a knock back for them covering the boys in FANtastic which is really fun!

*Update: I got up to VIVIZ before the performance part in the finale and I see now it was a previous unused song from Gfriend and it had the name already, so I’ve changed my opinion and its completely fine and understandable. It was only a very small issue I thought about anyway.

Kep1er best peformamce on Queendom 2 so far!

Tbh I feel like Mnet purposely made Kep1er’s sets quite basic, and small to emphasis their rookie status and to ‘prove’ no bias. Cause my girls are great and I feel was let down on stage creativity.

Only thing I wished is if they changed some of the lyrics to suit Kep1er on Queendom 2. Like keep Girls Generation part (because my queen’s) but maybe change 'Girls bring the boys out’ to 'Queens bring the crowns out’. That would have been chefs kiss.

Anyway I need to get their albums cause I panicked realising that they won’t be around permanently and I feel sad again aaaah. Nooo. Kpop is so expensive nowadays though and I mean shipping, import fees and so random fee these sites make up on the damn spot.

I’m so emotional.

This was such a refreshing performance!

The the real life story of how Hyerim watched Hyolyn perform as a teen, to affirming her dreams and becoming one of the top dancers in Korea is… Okay yes I’m crying now haha!

It feels like a second debut but of their more ‘badass’ side, but it’s amusing cause it’s still cute!

The classroom set and original pose gave me a flashback similarity of MISS A’s (my loves!) debut, Good girl Bad girl. Maybe it’s also because Nayoung has pink hair haha! And I think it’s also the school strong with black clothes, so I think it just mainly triggered my memory rather than being similar haha! Ah MISS A… my heart. Picture comparison at the end, just so it doesn’t take up the whole post.

I really like the interesting fun quirky like sound at 1:28 after the chorus.

It enhances the lyrics saying;

“I guess I’m just a little bit odd

Not picky but rather detailed

Strange is better than boring”

It gives me some gingamingayo just a little because of that! And I really like those sounds! It has a hard to explain but I guess nostalgic feeling for me like N64 and ps1/2 games!

So I’m starting to finally get a footing with LIGHTSUM now. It’s taken me EXTRA longer than I usually am because of being very upset (always will be) at CUBE ENT for the injustices to CLC, my cherry Soojin and (G)I-DLE.

Tldr: I’m aiming on focusing better on Lightsum.

Whilst I liked their debut Vanilla, my heart wasn’t in the right place at the time and there is always a little bitter feeling when a company debuts a group coincidentally when their previous group has drama.

This isn’t the new groups fault of course but I dislike the playing with my heart, cause you know how company stans and new group stans will be shady and the companies play up on that hive mentality.

Words like 'jealously’ and “Let’s support them!” Even though it’s not, not supporting its just raw feelings still not even remotely recovered then BAM look at this new group as if the other group didn’t exist.

Like this happened back when (G)I-DLE debuted with CLC, with these types of comments. Like yeah a lot of new fans in KPOP or tryhards will say this stuff to feel better about themselves and make it competitive or gatekeepery, you know the 'I was there when X’ like uhm….Just cause you watched their debut doesn’t mean you’re a fan lol.

Anyway I’m rambling. The point is I have having some understandle detachment from studying LIGHTSUM. Today I had a little spark and was like, hello they have 3 MVs what are you doing! So I went back rewtached Vanila then Vivace and now Alive.

I still am pretty slow in general (unless a group just easily latches onto my brain, and that doesn’t always mean they are in my highest groups), learning. It’s fun but also difficult especially with the over saturation of KPOP groups (double edged sword for us KPOPholics lol!). But I’ll get there. I want to support the girls, especially cause they’re in CUBE ENT. And they’re adorable. They have the cute sound that is coming back, but not overly cute and not overly sweet just in between. I have to say it does make them a little basic sounding atm for me but KPOP has also been have 2 to now 6 different genres on 1 damn song lol. Both aren’t bad, but my musical kpop pallette needs some time to readjust a little haha! Anyway as I said aiming to focus better on them, they sweet girls and remind me of a mix between (mainly) CLC, Cherry Bullet, and a little bit of Weeekly.

Tldr: Could have a been better but is heavily watered down. Nice enough MV direction.

The chorus is a big let down, it has a good build up then a bit of a normal GG crush sound then falls flat.

It’s called venom, like it should be be venomous like skz venom. Like that sounds slithering desire crawling through your veins, the slow intoxicating consumption.

That being said I liked the MV direction, nice outfits and good enough sets. The girls vocals are defo strong and so they need a harder song to go with their power. Lastly the part at 2:15 is not too bad.

I have to keep pausing cause I’m getting teary eyed and choked up.

The impact butterfly had and still has is forever. I’ve been an Orbit since I found a Gowon with Yves gif, as it was her debut single was the most recently released member MV at the time.

And their knees! Oh my girls, we love you so much! Our magical breathtaking Loona. They really acknowledge and appreciate ourselves thir worldwide fandom.

I’m an Orbit for life.

QueenBoA!Her electronic style is u matched! I love that the set (bar area) is the same or very similar to Taemin’s ‘Idea’! Really adds to the whole SM universe in a nice way.
