Doctors Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières, provides medical treatment to people all over the world. In addition to their many humanitarian efforts worldwide, Doctors Without Borders is working to rapidly scale up their medical and humanitarian response in various parts of Ukraine. Since the war began, MSF has provided donations of trauma kits to several hospitals in eastern Ukraine and is trying to ensure continuity of care of patients, especially elderly people, for whom disruptions in treatment can prove life-threatening.

Details About the Painting:

• Painted with acrylic on stretched canvas over a wood triangle frame.

• 26 cm tall, 30 cm wide, 3.5 cm thick.

How to participate is below:

• To bid: email me at  [email protected] and let me know how much you want to bid.

• If the top bidder backs out, the painting will go to the next highest bidder.

• The highest bid will be kept current at the top of this post (as best as I can   keep up).

• Bidding ends on April 9th, 2022 at 7pm, Eastern Standard Time.

• If you win, make your donation directly to Doctors Without Borders. Then email me a screenshot of your donation confirmation as proof. (feel free to blur out any personal info you would like.)

Best wishes and hopefully this will do some good!

“I know I have an inner peace, and try to maintain a calm approach to life, work and its problems. This peace has been a long time coming.

I believe it is partly to do with age — you begin to appreciate the things that really matter in life and to realise that most of the things you have spent years worrying about do not matter as much as you thought they did.

But more than that, since working with MSF I feel I have found my place in the world.

I have always struggled with the concept of patriotism, at least the idea of belonging to a particular spot on the globe.

My belief is that we are citizens of the world, all human beings together, all with the same basic urge to live in peace.

I have come to realise that my place in the world is not a geographical location, it is who I am and how I interact with the world — this MSF life has given me the chance to interact in a way which does not place importance on nationality, race, religion but on humanity.

It suits my beliefs, ethics and interests, and brings me peace.”
