Around Christmas last year I started work on the comic series Brooklyn Zirconia for Image Comics. Working together with the talented and charming writer Nadia Shammas and the accurate Frank Cvetcovic on lettering, we provided the back issue for Chip Zdarsky and Jacob Phillip’s publication NEWBURN.

As grim as it may sound I don’t think I could have done this without the early and long support and engagement coming from you, the people who have chosen to click at some point on that silly little follow button on tumblr. I couldn’t be prouder of the work Nadia Frank and I provided. And I don’t think it’s too much information at this point (you’ve been following this blog. come on) to say that I did not get much encouragement from my family to become a comic book artist, to say the least. This is my third official comic book release and I never feel like I say thank you enough to all of you. Thank you for thinking that my years of labor are worthy of being displayed, discussed, and shared. I hope you’re not too disappointed that I’ve been off the tumblr radar for a while. But you are always at the back of my mind.
I hope you can enjoy Newburn, and when you see someone pick it up at the store, inappropriately creep up at a COVID SAFE distance to point out very loudly “This guy used to draw JoJo and One Piece porn for to eat. Guess that worked out pretty well.”
