The sound of magic

The trailer was a spectacular one and obviously they baited me with Ji Chang Wook. God I’m weak for that beautiful man.

And it was not a disappointment. But things were left to be desired.

It was sort of comfortable and yet made you squirm with the uncomfortable conventions of our society. You could see the story unfold and simultaneously question why. Why indeed.

They really made wook and in yeop’s characters parallel. I was really invested in Na il deung but they conveniently left him out at the end. What happened to him. Did his dropping out help, is he happy now, at peace??!! We aren’t told. Neither do we know the whereabouts of our magician.

At least our leading lady has her life in some control and it makes sense to end it with that given it was her story we’re being told.

Also. Nam de reum came in last moment and stole the show that effortlessly.

Special mention to episode 5. My god that one hurt. Curse of asphalt was a masterpiece for real. That said, I need to see more Hwnag In Yeop.

But I’m really glad I actually managed to finish a recent ji Chang wook show. He is a fine Actor and I’m glad he’s taking projects out the norm, but some of his previous ones were hard to keep up with.

Oh Choi seung eun. Sorry that I didn’t recognise her as jae yi from beyond evil hairstyles really change looks. I liked her. She was strong yet vulnerable, headstrong yet fragile.

Oh also… beautiful cinematography. Your screen lights up and maybe that was the magic throughout.
