#national parks posters

LIVE

I know I have posted about my deeply rooted puzzle mania before. For those of you who may have missed that post, I’ll say again that I grew up in a family that frequently worked as a team at constructing jigsaw puzzles.

Fast forward (okay, not so fast, but moving forward) to this stay-at-home life and I have continued doing puzzles (although now of course I am the only team member). I have a huge table and focus on the ones with at least 1000 pieces. I have lost exact count but I think I am currently working on number 47.

This one features vintage posters of National Parks. I have been to most of these parks and several of them while these posters were in use.

But in one of my seemingly endless trove of boxes, I unearthed this oval puzzle which I found in my parents basement. I am working on it at the other end of my puzzle table. So one puzzle is sham retro and the other is actual retro.

The real kicker is the price on the old box lid. It is listed at 39 cents. I’ll be the first to admit that this oceanside picture is made up of not very sturdy cardboard pieces and it isn’t a huge number of pieces.

This is turning into an expensive hobby… But on the plus side, I am not going out for meals…

I may be working these new puzzles alone in my living room, but I am not feeling lonely. I can still feel the laughter and camaraderie as, in the 1950’s, my family sat around a card table working together. I share my new finished puzzles along with the warm feelings they bring me to others by dropping the finished puzzles off at a local charity resale shop.
