NATIONAL THEATRE BACKSTAGE TOUR
National Theatre! We haven’t had the chance to see a play here yet, but I went to see Danny Boyle‘s Frankenstein four times in the cinema so we were very well aware it was on NT’s stage where that particular magic happened. Excitement!
And the tour didn’t let me down. We had a very lovely, enthusiastic guide who told us many stories from the theatre’s history and about how things work. We peeked in the actors’ dressing room hallways, stood on stage in the midst of the set of A Taste of Honey and got a glimpse of all sorts of backstage areas - like the very rehearsal room where Benedict Cumberbatch, Jonny Lee Miller and Boyle worked on their thing.

The National Theatre is regarded as one of the best-equipped in the Southeast Asian region. In 2014, Berlin-based modern dance troupe Sasha Waltz and Guests had two appearances here, courtesy of the German Goethe-Institut.
