A decade later, Neville felt nothing like the timid boy he once was as he walked to the greenhouses for his second First Day. He stepped up to the front of the class with a smile and held out a lost item.
“First things first, did someone misplace a Rememberall?”
One of the parallels that I really like is the one between Frigga and Sylvie and how they are both Loki’s weakness, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Mobius.
Mobius uses both his mother and Sylvie and Loki’s attachment to them to get Loki to comply, to ‘break’ him and prod for information. He even uses the same tactics both times; showing him his mother’s death and telling him Sylvie was dead.
And both times he keeps riling him up with “like you killed your mother?” and “how do you spell that? Is that with an I-E or just an I?” until Loki snaps at him
And of course both times Mobius gets what he wants. Loki to momentarily calm down enough & show his vulnerability. Because both times Mobius wants info from him; what makes Loki tick and how to get to the variant / what caused the Nexus event and what is their plan, but he can’t get to that precious info as long as Loki’s façade is still up.
So I guess while this doesn’t really answer Mobius’ “What makes Loki tick?” line, it certainly answers “What makes Loki snap?”
His attachment to those he cares about and fear of losing them.
