The casting was very long. We didn’t write for any particular actors and so we have been looking for this couple for a long time. We knew we needed two different colors, two different personalities. That the male character would be very feminine and that the female character would have something strong, brave. …We hesitated for a long time, and finally, at one time we met Evelyne Brochu and she quickly made her mark. Because she is bilingual and has done many series. We also realized during the production that she had a real fan club because of Orphan Black and that she had a real reputation in the field of series. I thought it was nice to have a key figure in an English-speaking series to play the heroine of my first series.

GLUED TO HER BABY Laurier
Evelyne Brochu will spend the holidays glued to her baby, according to an Instagram post by the child’s father, Nicolas Schirmer, and the actress says, : “I’m going to spend the next few weeks at home, glued to my little boy”. The news of Laurier’s birth was shared on the social network on October 6th. She had informed us in June that she was waiting for the stork to come by posting a picture of her belly with just the word “Yup”.

How did you choose Grégoire Colin and Evelyne Brochu?
Director Nicolas Saada: “We chose Grégoire on casting. He gave the character a fragility, tenderness, darkness, duality. And, above all, a lot of elegance. For the role of Louise, we were looking for an actress who speaks French and English, who can be believable without being American - there are all kinds of constraints related to the American system when shooting in France. Evelyne, who is a Quebecer, speaks perfect French, but she has created this mysterious accent especially for the character. I really liked this breakthrough. She did the same for the English scenes. Frederick Wiseman, who played in the film, was convinced that she was from New England.”
