2013 FYF Weekend - Chinatown, LA 

Last weekend was our 2nd year going to Fuck Yeah Festival and the artist lineup was overall more mellow but still stellar.  Just to name a few, we saw Nosaj Thing, Beach House, Yo La Tengo, Deerhunter, Toro Y Moi, Classixx, Flag, Washed Out, and more.  

Victoria LeGrand’s singing carried over the largest crowd in the festival. Beach House sounded amazing live!  A plume of cigarette smoke and dust invaded our lungs and clothes.  (Sorry smoker friends but I hate cigarettes.) We noticed the dust level was worse than last year.  Savvy hipsters wore their most fashionable handkerchiefs over their faces.  Smart.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of the dude wearing matching shorts and shirt made out of my grandma’s curtains.  

I figure the best way to combat this dust is to distribute hay all over the place. Take note FYF.  And more porto potties!  Bitches be getting crazy grumpy in lines.  Thanks.

Sofia Spring Playlist

We’re about to embark on something wonderful.  Two major announcements are going to take place very soon.  1. I’m days away from having my 1st child Sofia (I share this intimate photo to you.). 2. Our company Meris will be releasing our highly anticipated pro audio 500 series bit crusher, Ottobit.  

I created a playlist called Sofia Spring Mix - 7E and dedicate this to our 7E baby. Marriage of Art and Engineering.  Hope you enjoy.

REWORK_ is an app album that features 11 interactive music visualizers of remixed works inspired by Philip Glass.  

Theapp features interactive audiovisual remixes by critically acclaimed musicians including Beck, Tyondai Braxton, Amon Tobin, Cornelius, Dan Deacon, Johann Johannsson, Nosaj Thing, Memory Tapes, Silver Alert, My Great Ghost, and Peter Broderick. 

“In addition to the visualizers, the app includes the “Glass Machine” which lets people create music inspired by Philip Glass’ early work by simply sliding two discs around side-by-side, almost like turntables. People can select different instruments – from synthesizer to piano, and generate polyrhythmic counterpoints between the two melodies.”

The app was directed by Scott Snibbe, produced by Ahna Girshick, and engineered by Graham McDermott, with music visualizer programming and design by software artist David Wicks.
