Allow me to dump more fuel on this shit show. I’ll try not to repeat what has already been stated more eloquently than I could, no doubt.
For the record, though, yes. Everything that everyone said. It’s stupid, it’s lazy, and it’s suicide. You want to make tumblr a place for jesus memes and fortnite screenshots? Because this is how you get that.
But also? I’m getting SCREENSHOTS of my FULLY CLOTHED character flagged for being explicit. Is it because the character is female and should therefore be ashamed of those dirty, awful things in her shirt?
So to summarize:
- It’s a stupid decision. Just period. I’m not going to get into the idiotic view that a body, be it real or digital, (of an of-age and consenting adult) is something that should be hidden. That’s just fucking offensive and asinine.
- It’s one made of laziness and greed (the simplest way to clear the way for milquetoast horseshit.
- It’s insincere because nothing ever gets done about the porn blogs (I mean those stupid spam blogs run by bots, not normal horny folk that post nsfw material). It’s setting fire to the forest to find a lost hiker.
- IT’S NOT EVEN BEING DONE RIGHT. Some 15 year old dev intern implemented a bot that looked for, I’m guessing, a hue within range of skin and will instantly flag it.
- A close up of two HANDS intertwined? Get that smut out of here.
- Fully clothed character in a rated T for TEEN game? Be ashamed, pervert
- Screenshot from Pride & Prejudice? GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE I CALL THE COPS, SEX FIEND.
Whatever, that’s it. I don’t have the time to count the grains of sand on the beach of tumblr’s idiocy. Eat shit. Basically. Just eat shit.
