Well, a part of it is the twelve and a half hour ferry between Aberdeen and Lerwick on your way to Twatt (~14 hours from Cock Bridge to Twatt on Shetland, which is ridiculous, there’s a Twatt on Orkney too and that’s only 6 hours).
Shitterton to Cock Bridge, via those other places is only 13 hours, and that’s an average speed of 50mph so like, not fantastic but not bad when you consider having to divert into Chesterfield for Cock Alley and right through the centre of Edinburgh for Dick Place
