One of my favorite quotes from Octavia E. Butler, rooting in that understanding Octavia knew so well and taught us so deeply, that where we are is not new and yet absolutely new, that what we do is history and future in motion.
So thankful today and especially today June 22nd on her birthday for Octavia’s vision, insights, wisdom, guidance, leadership, analysis, and imagination.
So many of her lessons are always relevant, I think the one I’m holding on to right now most is that whether things get better or worse (or most likely both), change is not only possible, it is imperative, it is our birthright, and we have what we need to shape change, to shape ourselves, to shape society, to shape the multiverse.
