Pretty excited to have my Yamaha SR400 in the @ogmotoshow this Saturday from 12pm-8pm in the Los Angeles Arts District. My husband @jkalning will also have two of his own bikes in the show that day if you’d like to see what he does in the shadows ‍♀️. From July 2020: A little over three years ago, I had an undying obsession to build a cafe racer. After extensive research, Pinterest vision boards and mock up drawings, I found the perfect bike on Craigslist to transform… a Yamaha SR400. This is the history of the bike. The first girl who bought it broke her ankle immediately after going on her first ride, the second buyer was a father who wanted his teenage daughter to learn to ride a motorcycle. It’s sad, she sat on it but was too afraid to ride. When I found the listing, it had 8 total miles on it. That it had an all female history was cool. Despite the sadness and disappointment it held in its bones, I decided to give it a better ending. Because of these girls, I pretty much bought a brand new bike for a great price and could finally get started on my vision. For the last 3 yrs, me and my husband @jkalning have slowly been building it up together. My go to girl for custom leather @fohrmaster helped me realize the tank and side bags. The guts were out for a while, but it’s pretty much complete and I was finally able to ride it these last two weeks. This is what it ultimately became.
