#okumura rin

I found this fic in my wips, which I totally forgot about. And oh my gosh??? Ryuuji?? I love him so much. Just. He’s so [screams into the oblivion]

Ryuuji decided to ambush him on the roof.

It was night time and there, staring up at the sky with an absent expression was Okumura.

“Hey!” He called out.

Okumura turned to him, startled. “Suguro?!”

Ryuuji could almost laugh at his expression, if this was another time. He didn’t waste time, going straight up to him with a determined face and demanded, “What’s wrong?”

Ryuuji winced. That came off too strong. Damn it, he’s not at all good at this thing. He takes a moment to close his eyes and breathe and then, less aggressively, he tries, again. “There’s something bothering you.” He says.

“I’m fine,” is the short, mumbled response. Just who was Okumura try to fool?!

It annoyed him. Ryuuji tried to keep a lid of his anger, though. It wouldn’t help. He gritted his teeth. Deep breathes, he chanted, just like Koneko had told him.

“It’s plain obvious to everyone you’re not. You wear your heart on your sleeve—and have you seen your tail? It’s practically a beacon! Not to mention when have you ever been so quiet?!”

Okumura pressed his lips into a thin line; a sort of anger in his eyes that he recognised. Ryuuji wanted to goad it out, have that spark of his friend back. “So? What’s up? Come on, we’re friends, aren’t we?”

At the mention of the word, friends, Okumura hesitated, some vulnerability cracking through.

“I…” His face twisted, conflicted. “It’s…”

Ryuuji walked closer, and crouched down next to Okumura. “We have some time.”
