Daikon draws a breath in an attempt to steel his nerves but alas, nothing could calm the torrent of emotions that came with proposing. He’d rather be the one proposed to, considering his generally passive role in the universe, but he’d be damned if they were snatched up by some other bozo before he had a chance to say anything.
This was a long time in the making, subtle hints dropped here and there, accidental brushing of the shoulders, so. Much. Flirting. Or at least, for what he could take before getting embarrassed about it. But still, he wanted to do his best to make his feelings known, and it was easiest in those quieter moments when nothing else mattered but him and them. He could still remember their first kiss…
Gah, enough with the sap! He was already embarrassed enough without taking a trip down fluffy memory lane! Daikon clutched the box in his hands tightly; he’d lamented over how flashy it’d been, the black box adorned with golden trimming throughout, but that couldn’t be helped. It was what was inside that mattered the most!
